Happy Tuesday! I am here today to celebrate with Julia as she has hit the milestone of 10,000 followers on YouTube!! How awesome is that!?! To thank everyone she is hosting an inspiring blog hop with tons of fun prizes!!
If you are coming from Francine’s YouTube Channel– WELCOME!
Julia wanted to celebrate kindness because she is so appreciative of all the support in this awesome creative community. I totally know how she feels- I have met so many awesome people over the years just through cardmaking! We can all be supportive by following one another, commenting on each others projects and just encouraging one another!
I had some inky fun creating this set of cards. This stamp was given to me by Jennifer McGuire when she was doing her Share Handmade Kindness campaign so I thought it was fitting for Julia’s hop theme as well!
- I started by heat embossing the sentiment with Versamark and white embossing powder.
- I then watercolored 7 different backgrounds with Distress Inks on Distress Watercolor Cardstock.
- Lastly I diecut out each of the backgrounds with Lawn Fawns new cross stitch rectangle dies and then foam taped them onto kraft cards.
- I embellished that cards by adding generous amounts of glossy accents drops randomly on the card fronts.
I always love playing with different Distress Ink combinations, but this time I just stuck to one color per card. The colors are really SO vibrant!

Love the birthday card you made for Julia! Such vibrant colors!
I LOVE all the colors of your cards. I think the blue is my favorite. I can’t wait to try using a single color for my backgrounds, I usually use multiple colors, with mixed results 🙂
Love this sentiment and all the great, colorful cards you created. They would certainly brighten someone’s day !!!
Beautiful bright colors! I had not thought of using the glossy accents for droplets… love it! I hope your cards find happy homes. So nice of you to offer them.
I love the bold one-color background. it reminds me of distressed denim.

Love the backgrounds and your simple layout. That makes the important message show uo so well. Thanks

These card sets are simple but stunning, I love the vibrant colours and the fact you are passing on the kindness message.
There is nothing like distress ink for that vibrancy of colour. Love your rainbow separated cards!
So simple but special due to the wonderful colors you chose.
Your cards are amazing! My favorite ones are the pink and green card. Pink and green are my favorite colours. My friend Leona would smile about such a wonderful card. She has been unlucky with her health and is very unhappy about that.
You all are amazing ..?I try to do this in my life..I make cards for my church so they can send them out to people in need.
I think that it is awesome that you are passing this on. I make cards for the church that I go to so people can get as you said “happy mail”. I love doing this… All of you are such an inspiration to me..thank you

You created a gorgeous selection of cards, the colours are all awesome! I don’t have a particular name in mind at the moment, to be honest, but anyone would deserve to receive a lovely card like this! Actually, I do have a crafty friend in mind now – she recently helped me a lot with my crafty needs! I bet she’d be delighted to get a wonderful card like yours!
Such fun, colorful cards! TFS =)
Jenn, these cards are amazing! You’re right–really vibrant colors. I don’t have anyone in mind to tell you about to send a card to, but it seems like you have some good candidates for that already. Thank you for your generosity! 🙂 ~ Andrea
What wonderful colors on your cards and they really pop on the craft background. Another great idea for using distress inks!!!

What a fantastic birthday card.
Your cards are all stunning!! I love the various colors you used. I do know of someone that could use some happy mail. She is a childhood friend of our 2 daughters. 26-years old and a few months ago found out she has cancer. She’s now in the midst of a 10-week round of chemo. She has lots of positive news, but I can’t imagine how hard it must be.
I cannot imagine what your dear friend is going through…but you are so right… she would be the perfect candidate for some happy mail.. prayers that your friend will come out of this at the other end with a clean bill of health …

Hi. I’m a distress ink junkie too! Love that blue look! Always amazed at the end result when using inks….awesome!
Hi Jenn ~ I’m a self-described Distress Ink Junkie and love everything about the cards you’ve created to share. (I NEVER thought of using drops of Glossy Accents on cards! DUH!!!) I hope you don’t mind if I CAS these cards; they’re spectacular with their bright, vibrant colors. My Aunt Marie, who just turned 90 earlier this month, is battling ovarian cancer AFTER she beat breast cancer in the 1970s and colon cancer in the early 2000s. She is an incredibly strong fighter whose faith has brought her through these battles. Thanks for your inspiration and for sharing in the fun of Julia’s 10,000+ and birthday celebration!! ~HUGS~
(PS: Hope things are well with your move too!!)
Nice water color coloring.
These are all beautiful! I love all the bright colors! My sister could use some happy mail. She is having a lot of difficult times right now. Thanks so much.
Fun cards! Congrats to Julia!
This makes such a cool collection of cards in every color!
Your cards are so happy and vibrant – sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face! My friend Jodie could definitely use some happy mail as it’s been a rough summer!
Such vibrant colors. Wonderful idea for sharing the cards. There are so many deserving people out there.
You are inspiring me to try to watercolor! The colors you chose are beautiful.
Love all the colors! My friend Linda always loves cards!
Absolutely beautiful cards! I was going to say that I would love for you to send my mama a card because, well, she’s my mama, but I’ve read some of the other posters’ requests and it sounds like quite a few of them could use some snail mail kindness (along with some thoughts and prayers, which I am also sending) more than my mama, so please send it to one (or seven!) of them. Thanks for sharing these great cards!
Really enjoying the organic feel of how the colors turned out!
Your cards are very nice. My Mum could need some Happy Mail. Three years ago we brought my Dad to hospital where he lost his battle agains cancer. Especially August in every year are tough days for us but my Mum still suffers the most.
The cards are free and fun.
You don’t need a lot of stamping or embellishments
to make a striking card.
Love the use of the watercolor.
I can see hearts in the first card with the red.
Fantastic.
thanks for sharing.
Wonderful cards. Love the colours and sentiment.
Valerija xx
Love your bright colourful colours and such a great message. Thanks
Absolutely beautiful! The rich watercolor backgrounds are just lovely!
Your cards are simply beautiful! I’m going to have to try this technique. My Aunt would appreciate one of your cards as her husband (my uncle) is in the final stages of pancreatic cancer. He is currently in the hospital and is not expected to survive much longer. He is young and will be leaving behind 6 children (the youngest only 6 years old).
I love doing a couple of cards at a time! Wonderful use of colours.
The cards are so, so, so beautiful! Love the combo of vibrant colors and kraft. My friend Archana recently lost her father after a prolonged illness. I am sure she could use a bit of cheer! Thank you for doing something so sweet. You are going to make many people very happy!
Gorgeous cards. They remind me of hand-died fabric, all soft and well-worn.
It’s hard to decide which is my favorite. I’m so in love with bright colors. Wonderful cards!
I love Julia’s card. It’s fun and fresh and vibrant – just like her!
Your cards are so pretty!
I think that we forget that
monochromatic colors
can be very appealing to
the eyes. Beautiful !
My sister-in-law, Terri is battling
ovarian cancer that has spread
to her lungs. The card shaded with Peacock Feathers would be the perfect color match for the
teal colored awareness ribbon of
ovarian cancer. Thanks for sharing kindness 🙂
You’ve made simple into stunning. A gorgeous set of cards.
Beautiful colorful background !Very nice
What lovely cards. Beautiful colors. My friend Mary could use a card, I’m visiting her right now, she recently finished cancer treatment. Monday she had her follow up scan and Friday (7/29) we go for the results. Praying for good news for her. Thanks for sharing and your kindness.
What a fantastic set of cards, love all that brightness. I can think of someone, my mum. She has alzehimers so she forgets who visits and thinks no one is coming to visit. A card is a more permanent reminder that she is loved and thought of all the time. She is in Australia so you may not want to send there but just a thought. Thanks petal
Great cards!
loving the rich, bright colors on your cards. My sister-in-law is undergoing chemo and cards of encouragement are most welcomed.
Such beautiful vibrant colors! This would make a great gift set for a friend!
Love the birthday card you made. Such a “Happy” card.

Gorgeous, fun card for Julia, but I’m totally in love with your set of single color cards–gotta CASE these! Would never have thought to mount them on kraft & I love that, too! I have a blogging friend who’s sister is terminally ill & she’s not elderly–such sadness. I’m about to send her another card & I know she’d love to get one of yours. What a kind thing to do for this Kindness blog hop–thank you, Jenn!

Hi Jenn from Louisiana! Those cards are scrummy! I haven’t seen a watercolored background that was so vibrant in a card. I’m definitely going to up my game after seeing what you’ve done here. Thanks for sharing your work. I would love it if you would send a card to my friend who has been almost totally bedridden by a serious back injury. She loves to get mail, and hardly anybody sends mail anymore. That is such a wonderful idea of yours. Thanks for your kindness! Oh, and Julia’s birthday card is wonderful, too!

OMG!!! the bright watercolor backgrounds melted my heart… these cards are flawless. you made me think about my mother, she is currently stressed out taking care of my grandmother who is in the hospital. my mom likes to paint with watercolors too, nothing fancy, but it makes her happy so I’m happy too. so just by seeing your post, you made many people happy. thank you!!
I love your cards, great colors. Thanks for all of the good thoughts.
I love the rainbow of watercolor cards and the clear drops make it look like they are still wet…love them! I think the celebrate card looks like ice cream melted…fabulous. Thanks for sharing.
Jenn, these are GORGEOUS! I always enjoy your work. The colors you chose are so vibrant and cheery. I’m definitely going to try this out. You rock, how sweet are you to send out cards to complete strangers, I love this idea. My sisters having a hard few weeks and while at the food store the other a lady walked up out of nowhere and told her God told me your having a hard time right now. He told me to tell you he sees you struggling and that everything’s going to be ok. She then asked if she could give her a hug. She told me that when she got in her car she cried happy tears. A stranger made her day, and that day would stick with her the rest of her life. It’s so true, you never know what’s going on in someone’s life. Just a few words can change someone’s day significantly, good or bad. I for one am going to try and pay more attention to strangers daily. You never know when someone just may need to hear a kind word, and that one word may change their day or life around. Thanks for sharing and always inspiring. Happy Birthday Julia and congrats on 10,000 subbies.

I know that is 2, you will probably get two hundred. There is too much suffering in this world. Beautiful cards, beautiful idea
