Note: I have two other blog posts for you today, be sure to be inspired by them too
Hey everyone! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Anything Goes challenge last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is Thanks/Thanksgiving! Remember you can enter up to 5 times! 🙂
We are showcasing Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Products but you don’t have to use them to enter the challenge. As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.
I haven’t had a chance to play with Simon Says Stamps September Card Kit- so I thought this would be the perfect time! Although the kit is no longer available the stamp set and supplies I am using are!
I white embossed the heart image from the I See You Stamp set. I then used Zig Clean Color Real brush markers to watercolor and fill it in. I used 2 different pinks, a yellow and a gray. For the background I scribbled the brighter pink Zig Clean Color Real Brush marker on a piece of plastic, spritzed with water and smooshed Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I then heat set the background and did this again with the lighter pink and then again with the yellow. Once dry I stamped the word “thanks” on the background. I used Brilliance Galaxy Gold Ink.
For the sentiment I die cut Lawn Fawn’s Scripty Thanks three times out of black cardstock. Using multi-matte medium I glued them together stacked on top of one another. I went over the word with a clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen, and then topped it off by covering it in Glossy Accents.
If you haven’t done this with the Wink of Stella glitter pen and glossy accents before then you don’t know what you are missing! It looks so awesome!
Have you heard about Jennifer McGuire’s Share Handmade Kindness Campaign? I shared the goodie box that I got from Jennifer McGuire on Periscope the other day. Here is the video so you can see it too!
I really want to be better about sending handmade cards. I struggle with this because I like to keep some of my cards so that people who attend my classes and the Loft Art Retreats can see them in person and I can use the time to explain them and teach them how I created them. But I vow to be better 🙂
Since I am trying to send more handmade cards I made a few extras of this design. For the sentiment on this one, I switched it up by die cutting the Scripty Thanks three times out of Distress Watercolor Cardstock and used the gray Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker to make an ombre.
Which one do you like better?
Ok- so now it’s time for YOU to enter the challenge. Remember, Thanks/Thanksgiving! is the theme so have fun and create a thankful card! Just by playing along and linking up your project to the SSS Wednesday Challenge post you can qualify to enter a $50 shopping voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.
Also if you are on instagram tag your photo with #ssswchallenge 🙂
There will be ONE lucky winner that will be chosen at random, it could be you!
I really hope to see some of my blog readers join in on all the fun and play along with the challenge. I can’t wait to stop by some of your blogs and take a peek at what you have made. Have a wicked fun time creating!
