Get Cracking: Beachy Shaker
Some people might think I am a bit crazy to be creating holiday cards during the summer months, well then, how about a beachy holiday card? I had a lot of fun creating this festive scene and even better, it is a shaker!
Using the Lawn Fawn Beachy Christmas and Christmas Fishes sets, I used Lawn Fawn Jet Black and Lawn Fawn white cardstock which is Neenah Classic Crest 80 LB Smooth Solar White Paper, and colored them with Copic markers.
I used the below Copic markers to color the images. You will find them linked below in the cardmaking supply list. With the swatches above you can easily substitute for similar colors or even a different coloring medium. For the background, I lightly ink blended with Lawn Fawn Inks: Fresh Lavender, Bubblegum, and Butter onto some Distress White Heavystock. I also ink-blended another piece of Distress White Heavystock with Lawn Fawn Doe ink and die-cut it with a simple stitched hillside. I used Simon Says Stamp blender brushes (that I store in my favorite brush caddy). As always when I use stencils I used the Make Art Stay-tion and whenever I am ink blending I love to use the Ink Stands to hold my ink pads, I also use a small mister bottle filled with Isopropyl Alcohol, to quickly clean my stencils with a Flour Sack Cloth. Have you seen my new *exclusive* Flour Sack cloths?! They are wicked fun and available in my online shop!
Then on a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock, I smooshed some pigment from a Salvaged Patina Distress Watercolor Pencil. I then die-cut two strips of ocean waves. These are the pieces I created the shaker element with. I added some Prisma Glitter with a Quickie Glue Pen and Chunky Glitter with Glossy Accents.
I will share more of this process in my video. I used some Trinity Stamps flat sequins to sprinkle into the shaker in Seafoam and Pearly Gates.
I also added a touch of Black Glaze pen to the sunglasses on the sunshine. This shaker card was so fun to create, and I love a beachy card all year round! I can’t wait to share more with you on YouTube!

I love the idea of this card- so unique. Thanks for tip on alcohol in spray mister for cleaning the stencils. I used to rush out of my craft room to clean in sink but this would make it so much easier.
