Making Cards is Fun Video Hop: Art Journal Inspiration

06/2/2014

I can’t believe it is already June! May was certainly a fun month. I am writing these blog posts from the Columbus Ohio Airport 🙂 I just attended the Simon Says Stamp Create event, and promise to blog more about that later this week. For now you can see posts about my trip on instagram here.

  • Don’t forget to visit me tomorrow to see my EXCITING announcement
  • ALSO there is a new Lawnscaping Challenge, and you can see my take on it here

SO EXCITED to welcome you to the  “Making Cards is Fun Video Hop “! I am so tickled pink that Laura asked me to be part of her video hop celebrating 1000 YouTube subscribers!! How awesome is that?! Maybe if I post some more video’s I can get as many followers… 😉

You may remember Laura from my Valentine’s Day Blog Hop back in February. I just adore her creations and her videos are fabulous too!

I decided to something a bit different for my video. I have been dying to get painty and play with Dina Wakley’s new paints, stencils etc. So I decided to do an Art Journal Inspiration video! I also recently saw this article about Fred Mullet and it inspired me to use some of my collection of stamps from him.  I hope you enjoy it. I was so busy creating and in the moment that sometimes I was a bit off camera and at the very end it stopped filming on me without me knowing… BUT overall there is some really good ideas and inspiration and I was able to widdle down the 1hour+ video to just under 12 mins. Not bad! 🙂 Here are some detail shots for you to enjoy:

Just ahead of me on the blog hop is  Jennifer Mcquire and who you want to hop to next, after me is Laura Bassen. (both girls I got to hang out with this weekend at the Simon Says Stamp Create event, more about that on the blog this week!)

Let me know any questions you might have, always happy to answer or explain better.

More details about the hop can be found here

I was absolutely fascinated watching you work on your journal page, I don’t know if it was the music, the colors or the theme, but I felt like I was inside your head. Thanks so much for sharing your creative process!!!

Love this! So cool to see you do the entire process, and the theme makes my heart happy. Wish I had that damaged by salt water stamp – true for both of us 🙂

Thanks for sharing your creative process in art journaling. I haven’t been brave enough to try it, but you explanations really help de-mystify it.

This was a wonderful experience. I have never seen anything like this before. The color building and inking over was great fun to watch. The colors are fabulous.

Your art journal page was interesting to watch you complete. I have never seen this kind of art before. I think I will give it a go. Art is in the eye of the beholder I believe as in beauty.

WOW – MAGIC REALLY DOES HAPPEN!!!
LOVED watching your pages grow, layer upon exciting layer, sorry that the video stopped recording but can totally understand how distracting it would have been while you were creating!!! You have given me LOTS to try as soon as I can let go of the firm grip I have on my ruler 🙂 One big question I have, well it is big for me, is regarding the baby wipes, apart from giving a really COOL effect, is it still OK for long term life of your work? Or am I getting too distracted by needing everything to be acid-free?
THANK YOU for sharing your CREATIVE INSPIRATION!!!
