I thought I would pop in and let you all know a little bit about what’s going on around here. There is a TON!
We finally picked up our Christmas tree last weekend, and decorated it after work on Monday. We have had plans or been away most weekends and since Chris commutes to work in Boston, he doesn’t get home until late on weeknights.
Chris’s mom had birthday celebration in New York City a couple weekends ago, a black tie event. fancy schmancy! It was fun to get all dressed up. I loved seeing Chris in a tux- so handsome!
I have been getting tons of happy mail from some black friday/small saturday/cyber monday purchases. I hope to be able to play with it all soon! Looking forward to some downtime over the holidays- yes downtime. Chris and I are laying low for the most part. We both have some time off from work and will be staying home for Christmas- probably just the 2 of us unless my dad changes his mind. We will spend Christmas Eve on Cape with Jayne (my old boss from Colorful Creations) and New Years Eve in CT with Chris’s sister and family- but besides that it will be PJ’s, studio table, and computer time (more on that below)- I can’t wait!
I participated in a panel presentation on Google Hangouts for CHA’s Social Media Section. We talked all about Facebook pages vs. Facebook Groups, Pinterest and I talked about Instagram. If you are interested in watching it I have cued it up to my section. Disclaimer: I was a tad nervous…
With 2015 fast approaching I am scrambling to get ready for all that is to come in the new year! I can’t tell you too much …. yet. I can tell you I am working hard to redesign shurkus.com – and you guys are going to LOVE it! There will be larger images of my projects, organization will be better and there will be shopping capabilities!!!! I have been blogging since 2005- whoa! almost TEN YEARS! The current design is about 3 years old… so I am ready to move forward and ramp up shurkus.com
Here’s a teeny sneak peek:
I have picked up more freelance graphic design, social media work with my friend Alana. I used to work with her at Providence College, but she started her own business last year, Carbon. She is one of the hardest workers I know and her company is flourishing! She’s at the point where she needs help with some projects so that is where I am filling in. I love working with her again!
I got my pictures back from the November Loft Art Retreat from Sarah of Sweet Jane Photography a few weeks ago- THEY ARE AWESOME! I hope to get a blog post together showing you some of them and recapping that event in the next couple days!
So, with ALL of that… I am wicked busy. Busier then normal- how that is even possible- I don’t even know! And, those are just the things I can share with you 😉 I can’t wait to share everything with you!!
Sadly, I am not sending out Christmas Cards this year. When I finally came to that realization it bummed me out big time. I am loving getting all the fabulous cards from peeps in the mail. I feel a bit guilty- but I know everyone will understand.
If you would like to see past years holiday cards you can find them here:
