This card instantly makes me think of summer, sunshine, fresh fruit, and all the happy colors that come with it. 🍓🍋💛

I started this project by white heat embossing some of the fruit images from Freshly Picked along with a few of the frames from Cottage Frames onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Heat embossing first is a fun way to prep images for watercoloring, it gives you crisp lines and helps keep the color where you want it.

Next, I brought everything to life using Distress Watercolor Pencils. I added picked up color with a wet paintbrush and added it to the embossed images, letting the colors softly blend. Whie waiting for everything to dry, I moved on to the background.

For a subtle pop of color, I splattered Tattered Rose Distress Watercolor Pencil across the card panel. It adds just enough interest without taking away from the fruit and frames. I then arranged the frames and fruit across the card, layering them for a bit of depth and movement.

The sentiment was stamped with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide, die-cut, and popped up with foam strips so it stands out from the background. To finish the card, I sprinkled on a few gold glitter drops, because a little sparkle always makes things better. ✨

This card seriously makes me crave summer and all the delicious fruit that comes with it, I can’t wait!
