I really love making Halloween creations! Looking at the bright side, although I can’t travel and teach it has given more time to create in my studio and share with all of you! This time I was inspired to “not toss out the sparkly letters”. Ha! I will explain more below:
Wicked Snarky, Tim Holtz
While I was creating my “wicked mixed media project” – I die cut out the letters “wicked” with Tim Holtz’s “Typo Lowercase” Bigz die. I found they didn’t fit well on the project, but I just didn’t have the heart to toss them. So, they inspired a card. I thought the new Snarky Cat Halloween set was SO fun, I just had to play with it! As I was coloring the images for the card, I had intended for the cat to sit on the pumpkin with a witches hat, well, once I colored and fussy cut out the pumpkin and hat I saw that those looked adorable together- so that inspired another card. You see what I am explaining here right? One thing rolled into another, and into another. Does this ever happen to you?
Ok, let’s see some more of these cards!
All of the images for both of these cards, and the smaller sentiments come from Snarky Cat Halloween.
I stamped and colored the cat, and witches hat images. I then fussy cut them out. I don’t worry about fussy cutting all the details of the cat hair etc, because I also stamped that image on my card background. Speaking of the background, I just did some ink smooshing with Wilted Violet Distress Ink on Distress Watercolor Cardstock.
I then popped up all of the “wicked” letters and images. For the smaller sentiments, I stamped them, cut them into strips, and inked the edges with a black ink pad.
For some finishing touches, I added some Platinum Distress Glitter to the buckle on the hat and used a black glaze pen to add some shine to the cat’s nose and whiskers.
For the second card, I die cut out another set of sparkly letters to spell “wicked”. I stamped, colored, and fussy cut out the pumpkin, another witches hat, and the jar of mushrooms. Again, I added some Platinum Distress Glitter to the belt buckle. I also split up the smaller sentiment and inked the edges with a black ink pad.
Hope you enjoy these wicked snarky cards!
