Alright, now to the fun cards I have to share with you-
Waving Hello, Lawn Fawnatics
I am still a little obsessed and have been playing with Distress Spray Stains a TON getting ready for my upcoming online Distress Technique class, so I used them for these cards here!
I started by laying down one of the wave stencils, as a mask for the sky, onto some Distress Watercolor Cardstock, the smooth side. I sprayed Distress Spray Stains in Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet.
I also sprayed those colors on another piece of Distress Watercolor cardstock that I will use for the sentiments.
I dried all of these pieces with the Ranger Heat Tool, and die cut the backgrounds from the largest Outside In Stitched Rectangle.
For the sentiment, I die cut 2 sentiment banners and white embossed the sentiment “waving hello” from Mermaid For You using Yeti Lawn Fawn pigment ink, and Alabaster White Brutus Monroe White Embossing Powder.
Note: whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool
Next, I stamped a bunch of images from Mermaid for You with Jet Black Lawn Fawn ink and colored them in with Copic markers (listed below and linked in the supply list at the bottom of this post). I also stamped seaweed, coral, and little fish images from the set with Distress Oxide Ink (Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, and Twisted Citron).
I diecut all of the images and added some white gel pen details to the mermaid tail. I also added some clear sparkle pens to the mermaid’s hair. I also added some Prisma glitter to the shells and pearls.
I then created the scene. Some of the items are added with foam squares, and some are flat with a glue pen. Once the scene was laid out, I added the whole stitched rectangle to the purple diagonal paper from the 6×6 Flower Market paper pad.
I stamped some bubbles directly onto the background. I added glossy accents to the bubbles, mermaid tail, and top also the fish. I also used glossy accents to add a sprinkling of chunky glitter throughout the ocean floor.
