Tim Holtz/Sizzix: Watercolored Scribbly Butterflies

Hi everyone! I am here today to share with you another set of cards I created with the new Tim Holtz/Sizzix release. Tim Holtz/Sizzix: Watercolored Scribbly Butterflies

I used the new Tim Holtz/Sizzix Scribbly Butterfly die set for this card set. I die-cut the top, detailed layer with Distress Black Heavystock. I die-cut the back layer with Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I then watercolored the back pieces into a rainbow gradient with Distress Watercolor Pencils and adhered them together with Distress Collage Medium.

For the background, I loaded up my #4 round paintbrush with Hickory Smoke Distress Watercolor Pencil and created brush strokes, sometimes overlapping. Some strokes had more pigment on the brush, and some had more water. This allowed for the variety of stripes along the background. For the sentiments on the cards, I die-cut letters from the new Hippity Hop die set and Distress Black Heavystock. I used the grid on the Make Art Stay-tion to line up my letters nicely and straight. I then picked up the letters with Best Ever Craft Tape, a low-tack tape. I adhered the letters onto the cards with Distress Collage Medium. I used the zero-centering ruler that is included with the Make Art Stay-tion.
