Tim Holtz/Sizzix: NEW Chapter 2 Products!
This card set was wicked fun to create, and they didn’t take long at all! Perfect to hand out to some special trick or treaters!
I started by creating the backgrounds. I spritzed some Distress Mica Sprays onto Distress Mixed Media Heavystock. I used the limited edition colors released last year, but check out the new colors available now!
Once these were dry, I stamped Tiny Text Halloween onto them using Black Soot Archival Ink. I like to keep the stamp all together, red rubber up. I ink it, then press the background down onto it. I purposely don’t press everywhere so the text will be sporadic around the background. I then diecut the backgrounds with a stitched rectangle die.
I then created all the fun icons for each card from the new Retro Halloween dies. I started by inkblending some Distress White Heavystock with Distress Oxide.
- Twisted Citron
- Wild Honey
- Fossilized Amber
- Wilted Violet
I then diecut them with the back layer of each of the icons. I dabbed this with the Distress Embossing Dauber and proceeded to sprinkle the coordinating Distress Embossing Glaze, and heat embossed them.
Next, I diecut the front layer from black Sparkle Cardstock and adhered them together with Distress Collage Medium.
For the sentiment, I stamped words from the Mr. Bones stamp set, cut them out with scissors, and inked the edges bringing the Black Soot Archival ink right to the edges. I also paired them with some clippings stickers from my stash.
I wrapped some mummy cloth around the background and then assembled the other elements on the card. I then matted the cards onto black cardstock.
