Tim Holtz/Sizzix: Lovestruck

Hi everyone! I am here today to share with you a fun card fitting for today, Valentine’s Day – but it is also a fun card you can create any time of year for someone you love. I created this card with the new Tim Holtz/Sizzix release. I am honored to be a Tim Holtz maker and am so excited to inspire you more with his products!!!

Tim Holtz/Sizzix: Lovestruck

For these cards, I started by creating the teal hearts with the new Tim Holtz/Sizzix Lovestruck Dies. I did a combination of Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and Salvaged Patina Distress Ink. I did a little bit of ink blending on some layers, and a little bit of ink smooshing with water on others on Distress White Heavystock. For the highlights, I used Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust Sparkle Cardstock.

I then took some Distress Kraft Heavystock and spread some Distress Crackle Texture Paste through stencils, here and there.

Once the texture paste was dry, I added some Distress Paint in Picked Raspberry and Kitsch Flamingo, spritzing with water and really letting the paint get into the cracks of the texture paste. Using the Ranger Heat tool to dry and move the color around. Once I got it to look the way I wanted, I heat set it pretty well and then splattered some Peacock Feathers and Picket Fence Distress Paint with the splatter brush.

Once I dried the backgrounds I die cut them from the largest stitched rectangle of Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Rectangles and matted them onto black cardstock. I added the hearts and sentiments with foam squares. The sentiments are Tim Holtz Ideaology Label Sentiments.

I think these cards are a good reminder that hearts don’t always need to be red or pink – and I feel we can send love cards to all those special people in our lives throughout the year!
