Sweet Birthday, Simon Says Stamp Card Kit
These cards were a lot of fun to create. Let me start by explaining the details of the first card. For this card I let the patterned papers in the kit lead the way for the color scheme of this card. I trimmed down two of the patterned papers and created the background. I then stamped some of the cupcake pieces from the 6×8 Sweet Birthday Stamp set included in the kit. I then colored them with Copic Markers. I stamped out image from the Happy Couple set onto Neenah cardstock with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I used the Copic markers below to color the images. With the swatches below, you can easily substitute them for similar colors or even a different coloring medium. I then die-cut the Birthday Wishes die included in the kit out of patterned paper included in the kit. I cut the word “wishes” off. I then finished off the sentiment by stamping some words from the stamp set.
I added some Distress Rock Candy Glitter to the frosting on the cupcakes with Distress Collage Medium. I also added some Glossy Accents to the candy on top.
For this next card, I Copic colored 3 of the lollipops and cut them out. For the background, I watercolored with Distress Watercolor Pencils onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I white embossed the sentiments onto vellum and another piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool. I stamp the sentiment several times over using a Misti and Yeti white pigment ink, then sprinkle the Alabaster White embossing powder from Brutus Monroe.
For the sentiment strip, I watercolored over the white embossing for a resist. I added glossy accents and Distress Rock Candy Glitter to the lollipops.
