I’m so excited to be part of Purple Onion Designs release today! I just adore the images that Stacey Yacula illustrates! I have had Purple Onion Designs stamps for a long time, but they haven’t gotten any love for a while. For this release, I got to play with some of their new images and I had a TON of fun! I have a few cards to share with you, I hope you enjoy them!
Celebrate it’s your birthday!
For this card, I colored up these adorable fairies with Copic markers, adding some details with a white gel pen and prisma glitter. Both of them are fussy cut-out, which is something I actually enjoy doing!
I stamped the stars in the background and layered the fairies over them. Tip: since the fairy wand is so tiny, I stamped her directly on the background and then adhered her and her tiny star wand topper over the stamped image- leaving the stick of her wand already on the background.
I stamped “celebrate it’s your birthday” and then using a quickie glue pen I glittered the whole sentiment. I love the detail you can get with a quickie glue pen!
Layered on some rainbow papers, I just love how cheery this card is!
Have a magical birthday!
A time saver tip: I colored all 4 fairies at the same time, with the same Copics. Then I just designed different cards for each! For this card I ink blended some Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink, then stamped the stars and sentiment. Adhering the fairies over the background.
Sitting here thinking of you
I think Stacey’s critters are just so very sweet! Love them! This little bunny swinging is so fun! For this card, I stamped the branch, and bunny on a swing directly onto the background. I colored them in with Copic markers. The owl was stamped and colored on another piece of cardstock. I fussy cut him out. I then placed a mask on the branch and swinging bunny. I ink blended over them with Distress Oxide Inks ( Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers).
Since my ink blending was such an intense color, once I peeled the mask away I could see a white outline in places, so I just went over it with a W2 Copic marker, I think that was a nice fix, and I didn’t have to toss all my hard work!
I used some Lawn Fawn stitched borders on the background panel. I used some 3M foam tape to pop up the owl. Then stamped the sentiment.
You are tough
I think this one is my favorite… well because – watercolor 😉 I started by stamping the branch and swinging bunny onto some Distress Watercolor Cardstock on the smooth side. I then watercolored the background with Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon). I stamped the bunny, the baby owl, and next on a separate piece of cardstock. I colored them in and fussy cut them out and added some white gel pen details to their cheeks. I colored in the branch and swing directly onto the card background. Then I layered my fussy cut out images onto the card, and stamped the sentiment.
Thank you so much for stopping by today 🙂

Your cards are adorable! Love the critters! They are so cute! I will need to check out this company. Thanks for sharing!
These are adorable Jenn! ❤ This is my 1st time hearing of the company but I love anything with bunnies(I was born on Easter🐇) & handlettered sentiments. I really like that you incorporated all the different mediums, i.e. Copics, ink blending, & water coloring. I can’t say I share your fondness for fussy cutting – thank goodness for dies! – but you did a great job. You even managed to get some rainbow 🌈 in there. ❤ Definitely going to have to check the company out!!
Love these sweet stamps. And the background on your Sitting here thinking of you swing set is stunning. All of them,so cute, usable. Gotta love the owl…and the bunny…and the chick…and…
These are all so adorable, Jenn. I love Stacey’s fun critters, too, and you have certainly shown them at their best.
