Simon Says Stamp is hosting a Summer Vacation Kid’s Challenge where they host a special challenge dedicated to their young designers.
Cate, Chris’s younger daughter was featured as one of the guest designers for the challenge at the beginning of the month.
We had another rainy weekend when she was staying with us so she and I got crafty together. We had a lot of fun, I was doing distress ink techniques etc. So I was sharing with her tips and techniques as we created. All of these cards were her idea solely. I am in awe at the creativity and how quickly she has picked up on cardmaking! Shes still a bit too young to have her own flickr account etc, so I offered to post her cards so she could enter the challenge.
And for the inside of this card, she had seen something similar on pinterest, although it was a digital cut you could purchase and use on your silhouette. Cate, looking at the just photo and armed with a pencil, ruler, xacto and cutting mat created her own- HOW COOL!?!?
And last but not least, after all of her creating she and I agreed her paper towel was too pretty to throw away so she created this clever card
Something tells me that with winter approaching (ugh.) she and I will not be bored 😉
Be sure to head over the the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog to see the other creations from our young crafters. If you have any young artists in your life ages 2-16 years old- have them enter the challenge ( you have a few days left!) Simon Says is giving away THREE grab bags! You have until August 31st 7pm EST to join in and you can enter as many times as you like.
Oh my gosh Cate! These are incredible! I, of course, love the first one (boats and anchors *be still my heart*), and the squirrel card cracks me up. I love how you used the twine on the fourth, repurposed your paper towel, and designed the clever insert! I have to say though, your blue skies ahead card – just stunning! I can’t wait to see what else you will create 🙂
Very cool cards, Cate!! You did a great job on all of them. I especially love the Squirrel card 🙂
Fabulous cards Cate 🙂 all of them are gorgeous and so creative ! WOW ! 🙂 You are so very talented 🙂
