I am back with a Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge card! Thank you for joining us for the Sparkle and Shine challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week the challenge is Anything Goes! So, get your creating thinking caps on and remember you can enter up to 5 times! 🙂
We are showcasing Penny Black Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used. As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.
For this challenge I wanted to play with Penny Black’s Dancing Blooms Die cut. I love the detail and how dainty the cut is.
I shared this sneak peek over on instagram– I was having so much fun watercoloring this die cut with the Crafter’s Companion Spectrum Aqua Markers. It was all about layer color and blending. I really took my time. You can see I kept the dies in the paper backing they were cut from to watercolor them, it was much easier to handle them and get the detail on there I wanted.
I scribbled a variety of purples, the Moss green, Sepia and Sunset from the Crafter’s Companion Spectrum Aqua Markers onto an acrylic block. I started by layering the variety of the purples letting the color move around and blending the different purples. I then blended the purple down the stems and added some sepia. I really love how this turned out. I feel they really look real! Lastly I decided to add a teeny bit of yellow to the buds, and i just LOVED how this layered and blended so well. I’m really happy I took a chance and tried this.
For the background I spread around some water onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock and then I brushed in some Broken China Distress Ink. Letting the color move around the puddles of water. I also heat set it, and then layered some more Broken China Distress Ink on top. This is really pretty to add dimension and layers to the background. I adhered the 3 sprigs of Dancing Blooms dies with Tombo mono glue. One of the sprigs I even cut into two pieces to make it fit on the card better and to add variety. I used some Prima Marketing Alphabet Stickers to add the “thank you” sentiment.
Ok- so now it’s time for YOU to enter the challenge. Remember, Anything Goes! is the theme so have fun and create whatever inspires YOU! Just by playing along and linking up your project to the SSS Wednesday Challenge post you can qualify to enter a $50 shopping voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.
Also if you are on instagram tag your photo with #ssswchallenge 🙂
There will be ONE lucky winner that will be chosen at random, it could be you!
I really hope to see some of my blog readers join in on all the fun and play along with the challenge. I can’t wait to stop by some of your blogs and take a peek at what you have made. Have a wicked fun time creating!
