Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: All Things Bright & Beautiful

I am back with a Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge card! Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is All Things Bright & Beautiful!

We are showcasing Hero Arts Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

I seriously think the past 3,234 cards I have made have been on Distress Watercolor Cardstock- so this time I did something WILD & CRAZY! I grabbed a sheet of Distress Specialty Stamping Paper and used that instead!

For the background: I spritzed Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Barn Door Distress Spray Stains right on my Ranger Craft sheet. I then plopped my Specialty Stamping Paper in it, and smooshed it around. I kept doing this until there was color all over. Laying the paper upright I spritzed some water on it to help the colors blend a bit and then heated it with my heat tool to speed up the dry time.

There was extra ink left over on my mat, so I “blotted” it up with some scraps of Distress Watercolor Cardstock ( I couldn’t NOT use it 🙂 ). These scraps are what I stamped the stars on from Simon Says Stamp Lots of Stars Clear set with SSS Orange Peel Dye Ink.  I then fussy cut them out.

I inked up the Hero Arts Radiant Banner background stamp in Hero Arts Poppy Chalk ink, and stamped it over the inked background. I love how subtle this showed up!

Then I layered the stars up the card, and stamped the sentiment. Careful the Specialty Stamping Paper is a bit slippery and you need to be careful stamping the words.

As a finishing touch I added some dots of yellow stickles. Never underestimate the power of stickles! 🙂
