Hey everyone! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our One Layer challenge last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is Shake It Up! Remember you can enter up to 5 times! 🙂 We are showcasing We R Memory Keepers Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.
I have mentioned quite a few times that I am shaker challenged 🙂 I am working on it though and trying to get better at shaker cards. The other day I posted this picture on Instagram gearing up for this creation, and 2 hours later I had my card. Yep. 2 hours. There’s a lot of thought that goes into creating a shaker card, and you essentially have to work backwards which isn’t how my brain thinks. So lots of doing and re-doing 😉 but I am really happy with how this card came out!
I have owned the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool for over a year now and this is only the 2nd time I have used it. I haven’t had the best success with it, but that is mainly because I wasn’t letting it heat up fast enough. I’m sort of impatient 😉 So this time I let it heat up for a long time while I worked on other steps for this card.
I started by die cutting the tag shape out of the white card base, and the 2 patterned papers from Lawn Fawn’s Let’s Polka In The Meadow Petite Paper Pack (that is where all of these adorable patterned papers are from). I die cut all 3 layers at once with my Vagabond so I didn’t need to worry about measuring so the tag shape was in the same spot on all 3 pieces.
I also diecut Lawn Fawn’s Scripty Thanks, and the clouds and sunshine from Spring Showers. Then came the part I was nervous about. Creating the shaker. Luckily I have all these wicked cute sequin sets that inspire me to SHAKE!
I used a We R Memory Keepers Page Protector for the plastic. I fused the edges and sprinkled in some of Lucy’s Cards Lemon Sherbert Sequin Mix. I then fused the top of the sequin pouch. I used some washi tape to adhere the sequin pouch to the back of the tag window.
I finished assembling the rest of the card with some of the elements like the Scripty Thanks and a couple of the clouds adhered to the front. But I also adhered the sun and another cloud on the inside of the card so you can see it peeking through the shaker.
This is probably the most “clever” shaker I have created, and I am pretty proud of it. 🙂
Ok- so now it’s time for YOU to enter the challenge. Remember, Shake It Up! is the theme so have fun! Just by playing along and linking up your project to the SSS Wednesday Challenge post you can qualify to enter a $50 shopping voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.
Also if you are on instagram tag your photo with #ssswchallenge 🙂
There will be ONE lucky winner that will be chosen at random, it could be you!
I really hope to see some of my blog readers join in on all the fun and play along with the challenge. I can’t wait to stop by some of your blogs and take a peek at what you have made. Have a wicked fun time creating!
