Hello Everyone! I have a couple of fun cards to share with you today! Joy Baldwin asked if I would create with her new Shark Week stamp set, and of course, I said, “Yes!” Joy’s Shark Week 2024 stamp set is open for pre-order now – June 13th, so be sure to order yours today!

Alright, now to the fun cards I have to share with you-

Santa Jaws, Shark Week 2024

For both of these cards, I stamped the shark images directly onto Distress White Heavystock. I also stamped a mask, fussy cut it out, and covered the images so I could create the backgrounds.

For this first card, I started by lightly ink-blending the background with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink. I then used Newton’s Nook wave stencil and ink blended with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink again but built up the layers to get a darker color. As always, when stenciling, I use the Make Art Stay-tion. I cut the background with the largest stitched rectangle in Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Rectangle Set.

I used the Copic markers below to color the images. With the swatches below, you can easily substitute them for similar colors or even a different coloring medium. If you are interested in learning more about Copic coloring or alcohol marker coloring, be sure to check out my Copic 101 class here.

I fussy cut out the mug and used a foam square to pop it up. I also added the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black. I added a touch of Prisma Glitter with a Quickie Glue Pen to the shark, and the waves closest to the shark.

For this second card, I stamped the shark with the Christmas tree and stamped a mask as well. I covered up the image and proceeded to ink-blend the background. I used Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave and Hillside Stencils. I used the Make Art Stay-tion to hold the stencils in place. These stencils are a lot of fun and can work as masks too. I used the following Distress Inks:

• Mermaid Lagoon
• Peacock Feathers
• Salvaged Patina
• Vintage Photo
• Tea Dye

I then stamped some of the seashells and starfish over the sand. I colored all the images in with Copic markers listed below. With the swatches below, you can easily substitute them for similar colors or even a different coloring medium.

I stamped some of the snowflakes with Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. I added some Prisma Glitter with a Quickie Glue Pen, and I word fetti’d the sentiment.
