oh, happy day!
Celebrate it’s your birthday!
This was such a fun card to make! Before I tell you the details of that I thought I would share how I use my Purple Onion Stamps. They come red rubber unmounted. Last time I posted cards with their stamps I got a lot of questions so hopefully, this will help.
Using and Storing Unmounted Stamps
- I use Tack N’ Peel from Tsukineko.
- I chose one of my acrylic blocks that I knew would fit almost all of the Purple Onion stamps I have. This one is approx 3″ x 4″.
- Trace your block onto the Tack N’ Peel.
- Cut out, and adhere it to an acrylic block.
5. There is a protective plastic sheet that you will peel off to adhere the stamp. Keep this as you will want to replace it when not using the block. This will keep the cling for a long time.
6. Purple Onion Stamps are deep etched red rubber stamps. You will get a beautiful stamped impression from them, and combine it with the Tack N Peel, that gives enough cushion for stamping.
7. any sized stamp will cling to the block, and then you can stamp with it. When you are done, peel the stamp off and replace the plastic film.
8. Since you will have a lot of loose pieces of red rubber stamps, I found storing them in 4×6 photo storage boxes works fabulously!
I organized my stamps into categories, and each category got their own storage box.
- Critters
- Scene Building
- Sentiments
Then I stamped the images on 4×6 cardstock so I will have them to refer to.
Then I store the reference sheets in the storage container with the stamps. These containers fit in the split fridge binz that I store all my clear stamps and dies in, so it works out perfectly for me!
I hope this helps and shows you how easy it is to use these stamps because Purple Onion really has some adorable designs!
Back to my card. I had so much fun coloring and creating this card. I think the most satisfying part was fussy cutting and using an x-acto knife to cut out the VW bus. It’s not something I want to do all the time, or for a set of 20 cards… but once in while it is so fun! Plus, using the Fiskars finger x-acto knife makes it really easy!
I gently ink blended some Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink on the background of the card.
I also used Lawn Fawn’s Bunting Borders. I cut it out with Narwhal Cardstock, and then the heart pennant I cut out of some Really Rainbow Lawn Fawn paper.
Hope you enjoyed this card and my tips were helpful for you and your crafty space!

Love this card, Jenn! Takes me down memory lane! Years ago we lived in Greece for a few years and traveled all over free camping with “Big Blue,” our old VW van. I went right to Purple Onion and bought this stamp along with a few others. Love Stacy’s adorable critters! Thanks for “enabling” me!! 😀
Great cards. Going to try these stamps for sure! Thanks for great storage idea. I use freezer bins for other stamps and dies. 🙂

Too cute! Love the VW bus with it’s adorable occupants — and the hints for sticking red rubber stamps.
Great post! I first discovered this line of stamps when I bought some from a thrift store. I’ve long had the supplies to mount unmounted stamps but have never stored them as nicely as you show. Very helpful!
This card is so cute!! Just makes me want to go on a road trip. 🙂
