Newton’s Nook Designs May Release: Years of Cheers

05/14/2015

Newton's Nook Designs May ReleaseHello Everyone! If you are visiting from Newton’s Nook- Welcome!! I am wicked excited to be the guest designer for Jennifer at Newton’s Nook this month. I get to share with you all the new stamps this week along with the very talented design team! How cool is that!?! If you missed yesterdays release you can see it here

Today the whole team is featuring “Years of Cheers”. If you are new to Newton’s Nook- be sure to read all about the company and more importantly who Newton is 🙂 .

Ok, onto the new goodies! Newton’s Years of Cheers set is so fun and can be used for so many different occasions! I created this card here:

For this card I started by stamping the champagne glasses on Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I then used Winnie & Walters Confetti Stencil and sponged some “bubbles” in the background. I used Dina Wakley Media Gilt paint which is the most sparkly gold paint I have ever used! You can see another card I did recently with it here. I painted in some Gilt in the glasses as well. Then I took the word stamp “cheers” and inked it up in Spun Sugar Distress Ink, basically the lightest ink I own and stamped it going up the glasses as you can see here (you can also see just how sparkly that paint is!) I then painted over the faint stamped impression of cheers with the Gilt paint. This way I had a really nice gold sentiment! This took a bit of patience and a steady hand but I just LOVE how it turned out!

Then using my quickie glue pen I added some more “bubbles” and sprinkled ultra fine glitter over those. I added a touch of glitter to the champagne flutes too. I backed this later with some super sparkly gold tape I had and them mounted that on a black note card I made with Ranger Black Cardstock.

This set is so playful and has such fun sentiments for friendship cards 🙂 I will be back tomorrow with another new creation as well!

I really really like that you off-centered the foreground, it makes it look so elegant and fancy!
