Hey crafty friends! 👋 I’m popping in to share a card I made using some of my favorite Tim Holtz stamps and stencils from Stampers Anonymous.
Fun fact: Stampers Anonymous doesn’t retire their Tim Holtz designs, so there’s a huge library of awesome stamps and stencils you might not have seen in a while (or totally forgot you had 😉).
Hope this project sparks some inspiration to dig into your stash and get creative! ✨

Love Tickets, Tim Holtz

For this card, I started by creating a soft, layered background using Distress Watercolor Pencils. I added a bit of pigment smooshing directly onto my surface, imperfect washes that I love so much.
Once that was dry, I stamped the text background from the Love Struck stamp set using Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink, covering the entire panel. This subtle layer adds texture and interest without overpowering the focal elements. I then splattered the background with Distress Watercolor Pencil, letting the droplets fall naturally, and set everything aside to dry completely.
For the focal point, I stamped the “love” ticket image six times, each in a different shade of Distress Oxide Ink, creating a soft ombré effect across the set. After fussy cutting them out, I used a paper distresser along the edges to give them a worn, well-loved look, then splattered them lightly with water to enhance that distressed feel.
I adhered the tickets to the card panel and layered a gray heart over the top. To create the heart, I rubbed Distress Watercolor Pencil directly onto the stamp, misted lightly, and stamped, one of my favorite ways to get variation and texture in a single impression. The sentiment comes from the Stamp & Stencil Mixed Media Note Quotes set. I trimmed it into word confetti and tucked the pieces into the heart for a playful, mixed-media touch. To finish it off, I added Distress Rock Candy Chunky to the left side of the heart using Distress Collage Medium for a bit of subtle sparkle and dimension.
This is a great reminder that you don’t need to overthink your supplies or your process, layering simple techniques, playing with color, and embracing imperfection can lead to something truly special. Let yourself experiment, try new combinations, and most importantly, have fun at your craft table. You might be surprised by what unfolds when you give yourself permission to play.
