Hey everyone! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Anything Goes challenge last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is Let It Snow! Remember you can enter up to 5 times! 🙂
We are showcasing Art Impressions Products but you don’t have to use them to enter the challenge. As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.
I had so much fun coloring this little polar bear and bringing him to life. His striped sweater allows you to be able to play with a lot of color combos. I wanted to stick to a more Christmas themed card, but I could’ve used blues or purples to make a winter greeting too!
I started by stamping My Favorite Things Snowfall Background on Distress Watercolor Cardstock in Versamark and then embossed it in white. I then inked over the background. I concentrated the lighter colors where I knew I was going to have the polar bear stand. I started with Tumbled Glass, then Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans and lastly Dusty Concord Distress Inks. I used the Ink Blending Tool for this.
The trick to doing blended backgrounds is to go back and blend the previous color into the new color. For example- I did Tumbled Glass, then Stormy Sky. THEN I went back with Tumbled Glass to blend out the line between the two.
Once the background was finished I stamped Polar Phil with Watering Can Archival Ink onto another piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I watercolored him with Distress Inks, but used a Clear Wink of Stella Gliter pen as the waterbrush. I used Hickory Smoke on him and dusted his cheeks with Worn Lipstick. His sweater was done with Festive Berries. I fussy cut him out and adhered him flat to the card.
For the sentiment I die cut “merry” from the SSS Merry & Bright die. I colored it with Festive Berries Distress Ink. I then used foam tape to adhere it to the card. I coated the whole word with Clear Wink of Stella, and then a generous amount of Glossy Accents.
Lastly I put Glossy Accents along the bottom of the card and sprinkled it with Shaved Ice. WICKED FUN!
Ok- so now it’s time for YOU to enter the challenge. Remember, Let It Snow! is the theme so have fun and get into the holiday spirit! Just by playing along and linking up your project to the SSS Wednesday Challenge post you can qualify to enter a $50 shopping voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.
