Hey crafty friends! 👋 I’m popping in to share a card I made using some of my favorite Tim Holtz stamps and stencils from Stampers Anonymous.
Fun fact: Stampers Anonymous doesn’t retire their Tim Holtz designs, so there’s a huge library of awesome stamps and stencils you might not have seen in a while (or totally forgot you had 😉).
Hope this project sparks some inspiration to dig into your stash and get creative! ✨

I Put a Spell on You: Black Cat Halloween Card, Tim Holtz

Hello, friends! I’m back with another Halloween card, and this time a trio of mischievous black cats has taken center stage. 🐈⬛
The Background
I created the background using Tim Holtz’s String stencil with Distress Micro Glaze and Distress Inks. The Micro Glaze resists the ink wherever it’s applied through the stencil, leaving behind those fun streaky lines. I blended in glowing yellows, teals, pinks, and purples for a colorful, almost twilight look that’s perfect for Halloween night.
The Black Cats
Next, I stamped the three black cats from the Halftone Halloween stamp set directly onto the background. I love how their silhouettes stand out against all that color, and their glowing eyes let the background shine right through!
The Sentiments
For the main sentiment, I stamped and embossed “Trick or Treat,” then watercolored the letters with Distress Watercolor Pencils in a bright ombre of orange, pink, and purple.
For the second sentiment, I stamped and white embossed “I Put a Spell on You” from the Blueprint Spells stamp set onto black cardstock. To finish, I added a touch of Distress Rock Candy Chunky to the edges of both sentiments for a little frosty sparkle.
Thanks for Stopping By!
I hope this card puts a spell on you and inspires you to create some Halloween magic of your own! Are you team black cat, or do you prefer your Halloween cards with skulls and potions? Let me know in the comments. I love hearing from you!
