Hero Arts Blog Hop: 2 stamp sets, 3 cards
Hi everyone! Welcome to the Hero Arts Winter Catalog Blog Hop!
If you are visiting my blog for the first time or have not yet subscribed – be sure to do so! I share lots of handmade projects every week delivering them straight to your inbox! I also occasionally share information about crafty classes and new product releases I love. Subscribe here.
I made 3 cards to share with you today. The main supplies on each card are the new Fawn & Friends stamp set along with the previously released Birch Forest Cling Stamp. I will share more about each of these cards and other supplies I used below.
Card Details:
For this card, I stamped the Birch Forest Cling Stamp on Distress Watercolor Cardstock with Hickory Smoke Oxide Distress. I used a wet brush to blend the ink and give it a more watercolored look.
Then I stamped the deer from the Fawn and Friends stamp set in Antique Linen Distress Ink on Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I watercolored it with Distress Inks (Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Hickory Smoke). Since I stamped it with Antique Linen it gave a no-line watercolor look. I forgot how much I enjoy doing this technique!
I die-cut the Layering Snowglobe Fancy die out of red and teal cardstock, and Distress Watercolor Cardstock as well. I pieced it together. Watercolored some Peacock Distress Ink on the background and some Festive Berries Distress Ink for the label plate.
I die-cut some of the snowflakes out of sparkle cardstock and I added the sentiment from Christmas Messages. A touch of black glaze pen to the fawn’s nose and hooves as a finishing touch.
Card Details:
For this card, I stamped the Birch Forest Cling Stamp on Kraft Cardstock with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide.
I then used the same no-line watercoloring technique as the fawn. I stamped the fox from the Fawn and Friends stamp set in Antique Linen Distress Ink on Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I watercolored it with Distress Inks (Wild Honey, Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Hickory Smoke).
I die-cut a stitched heart out of Distress Watercolor cardstock and watercolored it loosely with Spun Sugar Distress Ink. I stamped the sentiment “sending love” from Wishes Stamp & Cut in Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide on a sentiment banner.
Lastly, I added a touch of black glaze pen on the eyes and nose.
Card Details:
For this last card, I laid the Birch Forest stamp on my craft table rubber up. I proceeded to ink it with Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet). I then gently misted with with water using a Distress Sprayer. I then took a sheet of Distress Watercolor Cardstock and pressed it on top of the background stamp. Much easier to “stamp” it this way to get an even impression and not have the ink run.
I then used the same no-line watercoloring technique as the fawn. I stamped the cat from the Fawn and Friends stamp set in Antique Linen Distress Ink on Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I watercolored it with Distress Inks (Tattered Rose, Hickory Smoke). Don’t tell my kitties that I didn’t feature them on this card. I think this is a first for me! HA!
I stamped the sentiment from the Fawn & Friends stamp set on a sentiment banner.
I hope you found these 3 cards inspiring. I wanted to showcase some cards that could be used all year round as well as a holiday one!
