Hey creative peeps, selfie was to grab your attention (hopefully) and an excuse to throw some red lipstick on. Didn’t realize how much I missed it with all the mask-wearing.
I am guessing you won’t be surprised to read that I have decided to cancel all of my in-person classes for the rest of the year. This also includes the previously planned Creative Journey Art Retreat in November.
This was not an easy decision, and as September is approaching I am already missing the hustle and bustle I would normally be doing to prepare for all the store visits. I am going to miss seeing all of you in real life, however, I think this is the safest decision for all of us.
Things are changing daily, and COVID numbers are still rising. It is best to listen to science and avoid gatherings of large numbers. When I think about the classes I teach, with the supplies we share, the amount of people in the room, it just doesn’t make sense that we will be able to social distance properly and disinfect things properly.
I look forward to a time when conditions are safer and we can gather together again and be creative!
With all that said, it doesn’t mean that we can’t still create together virtually and I am already planning ways for us to do that. I hope you can take a couple of minutes and answer a few questions for me to help me plan what would work best for all of us. Use the link in my bio to get to the questionnaire.
I appreciate all of your support in purchasing card kits from me, destash items, commenting on my posts, and visiting my site. It all means the world to me as a small business. You guys are the best! Thank you! 💕
Read yesterday’s post & this today, brings sadness to me so much. What you are doing, or not doing, is the most responsible & very safest thing to do for everyone & I applaud you for putting safety before profit. As I am in the UK I never get to your classes unfortunately but I understand the absolute sadness you must feel to not be having personal , hands on craft sessions. Love n 2020 so much has changed & we as a planet have lost so many lives unnecessarily to covid 19. Here’s hoping that as soon as there is a safer way to collect together that we all can, crafters are very sociable people so it feels so wrong that we sit individually doing our favourite projects. It is the same here in UK, it’s not safe to ignore the science & blindly forge on. I am getting quite a fun pile of masks made of funky material patterns together so to cheer up having to wear them , makes a change from hospital scrub blue . Here’s to staying safe, healthy but happy creating, sending more snail mail to cheer up the world & wearing red lippy even behind your masks. Stay healthy and happy xxx
Sorry it appears an essay isn’t meant that way or as a political speech lol just had to get it off my chest, all the very best with whatever you do & share with us x
Good luck with whatever you end up temporarily doing!
