Hello everyone! I am excited to start another year of the Get Cracking on Christmas series and wicked excited to work on my stash of holiday cards throughout the year! I will continue to create holiday cards with NO STRESS, using stamps and supplies I haven’t had a chance to play with yet and experimenting with different techniques.

Get Cracking: Holiday Scenes

Alright, how did you do last year? Did you send out any holiday cards? Did you wish you had but ran out of time? Get Cracking on Christmas is for you! We make a few holiday cards each month, so we aren’t stressed in the fall.

For these cards, I wanted to create with some of the newest Purple Onion Designs stamps that I didn’t get to play with before the holidays. I ADORE Stacy Yacula’s designs and always have a fun time creating with her images!

I started by stamping Hannah and Fin onto Neenah cardstock with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I used the Copic markers below to color the images. With the swatches below you can easily substitute for similar colors or even a different coloring medium. If you are interested in learning more about Copic coloring, or alcohol marker coloring, be sure to check out my Copic 101 class here.

I then fussy cut out the critters using a finger X-acto and my favorite spring-action scissors. I used a Memento brush marker to color the white edges black to give it a finished look. I will share and show all of these tips during my LIVE.

I then stamped the Park Background on one panel of Distress Watercolor Cardstock and the City Christmas Tree onto another. I then watercolored them with Distress Watercolor Pencils.

I splattered this one with some gold paint from the Gansai Tambi Starry Palette. I added Glossy Accents and Prisma Glitter to the string of ornaments.

This one I splattered with Dr. Ph. Martin’s bleed proof white paint. I also added some sparkly details with Prisma Glitter and Quickie Glue Pen; for the sentiment, I snipped it into word strips and inked the edges with a little bit of Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink.
