Garden Greetings, Simon Says Stamp Card Kit
My cards were inspired by the Orca sequins that are included in the kit. I loved the colors in the mixture, and use that to inspire the colors on my cards.
For all of these cards, I started with the Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Cardstock in Matte Black. This isn’t included in the kit, but I knew it would withstand a little bit of water for the watercoloring I wanted to do. I used the Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors in Gem colors.
I used a Versafine Onyx Black ink pad and clear embossing powder to emboss the floral images from the 6×8 Garden Greetings stamp set included in the card kit.
I then watercolored around each of the images. I just love how the gem tones look on the black cardstock. Once I was done watercoloring the florals, I kept some as-is, and fussy cut out some. I then started to arrange how each of the cards would look.
I then either die-cut the “hugs” die included in the kit out of gold metallic cardstock, or gold embossed sentiments on the cards. I also splattered some gold paint onto some of the cards.
I then finished off the cards by adding a sprinkling of the Orca sequins that inspired these cards.
These cards are a different color scheme then I usually go with, but I love how they turned out. I know by just changing the colors to more white and brights I could have completely different cards. I can’t wait to play some more!

Lovely cards and loved the technique with the water coloring and then cutting the images with the dies. So pretty. Isn’t this the best kit. Love that embossing folder. Thanks for all you do and all you show us.
Amazing cards, Jenn! The black with the watercolor is stunning. I can see how the “Orca: sequins tie in and how could you not love them with that name? 🙂 TFS
