I have received a lot of custom canvas orders over the past few months which is a good thing. The part that makes me sad is they are for “F*ck Cancer” ones. I love making my artsy fartsy canvases but I hope for a day where there will be no need for the cancer ones.
A crafty friend of mine has recently been diagnosed so a few of us crafty friends got together to send her some handmade cards and one of my canvases.
As soon as I saw Mama Elephant’s Super Duo Stamp set they released for STAMPtember on Simon Says Stamp I just knew it would be the perfect set to create cards for friends who were going through a tough time. The sentiments are just perfect!
I created one card to go along with the F*ck Cancer canvas and one for another sweet friend who needed a “pick me up”. Mama Elephant’s background stamp from their My Sunshine set was a perfect background for this card.
The gold sparkle ribbon from May Arts was also just perfect for these cards. I had fun coloring the girls with my copics. I am trying to make the hair look more realistic. To get the city skyline to be nice and bold I used Versafine black ink. The pink is Bubble Gum from Hero Arts.
The canvas I created was in the pink tones as well because I thought that is what my friend would enjoy. I love how the little touch of other colors comes through.
If you are looking for a unique gift idea for a friend or someone special in your life I am taking custom orders for the holidays. Contact me through email and we can talk about what quote, colors, size etc that you would like! You can see some previous custom canvases I have made in this blog post as well.
