COOLest Card Series: Stencils, Paper Smooches

01/7/2016

Hello Everyone! I have a really fun announcement for you today! I am hosting a card series every Thursday in January. It’s the COOLest Cards Series and it will be featuring snowman and snowflakes! Yep, you read that correctly. This summer loving, winter hating girl LOVES snowman and snowflakes- just as long as I don’t need to feel the cold! Ha! Two years ago I hosted this series, and last year I just didn’t get around to doing it. I missed it. It was so much fun and a great way for me to use all the snow related supplies I have collected!

This year will be a bit different. First I have invited Audrey, another snow loving creative friend to post right along with me. That means more inspiration for you! Second I am inviting you to participate with us and of course that gives you a chance to win some AWESOME prizes!!!

This week the theme is Stencils. Audrey and I are featuring Paper Smooches but you can use any company as long as the project is SNOW themed AND you use Stencils.

I used this fun set Cool Dudes stamp set. I also added in a little Shaved Ice, which looks like sparkly snow. For the background I first used SSS Falling Heart Stencil, and gently blended Dusty Concord Distress Ink. As I moved the blending tool down the card I didn’t rub as hard so I would get a sort of fade. Then I used SSS Falling Snow Stencil. I spread Transparent Embossing Paste through it, and while wet sprinkled it with glitter. It’s so sparkly and pretty in real life.

Beautiful card, I have to admit this year is the first time I have thought of doing snow, snowflakes and snowmen as there have been some amazing stamp, die and stencil releases. Living in Australia where its hot as its hard to think snow but these stamps and stencils sure make it more apppealing.
