Time for a NEW Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Hey everyone! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Cute & Cuddly challenge last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is Come Rain Or Shine! Remember you can enter up to 5 times! 🙂 We are showcasing Avery Elle Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used. Avery Elle has such a wonderful selection of stamps and other products, as well! They have great variety in their designs making it easy to find something that suits your taste no matter what your style!

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store! YAY!

I recently got Avery Elle’s set “Skating By” and I was looking forward to coloring her. She was just as fun as I thought she would be, so much so I had to create TWO cards this week!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Come Rain Or Shine Featuring Avery Elle Products | shurkus.com

I started by cutting out one of Lawn Fawn’s Puffy Cloud Borders and using it as a stencil to ink some clouds in the background. On Distress Watercolor Cardstock I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and an Ink Blending Tool. Once the whole background was done I die cut out the background with the Winnie & Walter Audrey Cutaways.

I then stamped the rollerskating girl and the bunch of balloons a few times on Distress Watercolor Cardstock with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I followed my no-line watercoloring tutorial to add color to all the images. The coordinating dies are really nice to cut the images out, because it cut out the scallop edge on her skirt and the strings on the balloons so perfectly. I added a little sparkle to her dress with a quickie glue pen and ultra fine glitter. I also added a few details with a white Uni-Ball Gel Pen.

Like I said, I had so much fun coloring her the first time I just had to create another! Be sure to let me know in the comments which one you would like to see me create on Periscope Tonight! (more details about that below)

There is so much to like on BOTH cards, that it’s hard to choose a favourite. I love the “splotchy” BG on your yellow card, but the colourful balloon one gets my vote by a squeak!
