Alright, now to the fun card I have to share with you-
Berry Sweet, Lawn Fawnatics
I decided to create a card inspired by Strawberry Shortcake! I was a child of the 80’s, and I grew up with Starwberry Shortcake bedding, trash can and lunchbox, not to mention the doll too! I started by die cutting some strawberries from Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Using the Strawberry Patch and Outside In Stitched Strawberry dies.
I also die cut the word “sweet” with Finley’s ABCs. I white embossed the word “berry” with Riley’s ABC’s and watercolored all of it with DIstress Watercolor Pencils.
Whenever I do ANY embossing, I prep the surface using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool. I stamp the sentiment several times over using a Misti and Yeti white pigment ink, then sprinkle the Alabaster White embossing powder from Brutus Monroe.
For the background, I traced some of the clouds from the Cloud Background Stencils with Distress Watercolor Pencils, and watercolored them. I will be offering a part two soon!
I then stamped the bumble bee and trail from Berry Sweet, and one of the kitties from Meow You Doin’. I colored these in with Copic markers, making the cat look like some of the cartoon images of Strawberry Shortcake’s cat
I added white polka dots to the cat, and splatters to the rest of the images with Dr. Ph. Martin’s bleed proof white paint. I added a touch of Prisma glitter with a Quickie Glue pen to the wings of the bubble bee. I hope you find this card inspiring and that you join us in the challenge!
