Hey everyone! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Let’s Go Wild challenge last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week the challenge is Make for the Border!
We are featuring Memory Box Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them we would love to see them used! As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store! YAY!
Remember we are hosting a Kid’s Challenge and there is still time to enter! Be sure to check it out!
I saw this Jelly Fish die from Memory Box and I just knew I needed to have it! This time of year as I swim at my favorite beach, Dowses in Osterville Ma, I am swimming with a bunch of jellies. I know them as “moonies” they are clear and don’t sting. Later in August we have the potential of running into the red ones that do sting, but I have yet to be stung *knock on wood*
I also recently got some of the new alcohol inks and some of the alcohol Yupo paper to try out so I figured this was a perfect time to play! I haven’t dug out my alcohol inks in a long time so this was fun!
Alcohol Inked Jellyfish | Memory Box
I loved using the alcohol inks on the Yupto paper. It was so fun to see how the inks react. I didn’t feel the need to use the blender solution. I alcohol inked a pice of the paper and then diecut 3 jelly’s. For the card background I used Distress Inks (Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Seedless Preserves) I did a few different layers of ink smooshing along with water droplets. I also added some white enamel accents. Lastly I white embossed the sentiment on black cardstock. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Share Handmade Kindness stamp set.
Ok- so now it’s time for YOU to enter the challenge. Remember, Make for the Border is the theme so have fun! Just by playing along and linking up your project to the SSS Wednesday Challenge post you can qualify to enter a $50 shopping voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.
Also if you are on instagram tag your photo with #ssswchallenge 🙂 There will be ONE lucky winner that will be chosen at random, it could be you!
I really hope to see some of my blog readers join in on all the fun and play along with the challenge. I can’t wait to stop by some of your blogs and take a peek at what you have made. Have a wicked fun time creating!

Wowzer–this is stunning! I’ve got that paper on my wishlist as maybe I would make use of my alcohol inks if I had it!
Hi Jenn, needless to say I love the colors! But, I also love the way you tangled the tentacles of the jellies! Looks like they are swimming, which of course was the effect you wanted I’m sure. I never used Yupo paper. Might have to try it now… Hope all is well with you. August is flying by, so I’m sure you are making the most of it…Jeanne
Wow! This card blows me away! You have inspired me to look into getting alcohol inks… and I absolutely LOVE the border you created with that jellyfish die. As a higher ed professional at VIMS School of Marine Science in Virginia, I may just need to add that die to my crafty stash collection!
Those colors are so dramatic and rich, all I can say is WOW! What a gorgeous card!
Awesome card, love the colours and patterns, Cathy x

Simon Says Stamp!
This looks marvelous! The colors are perfect and the jellies captivating. I could look at this again and again.
Simply gorgeous! I love every detail: amazing colors and blending and the die itself is adorable! It’s already on my shopping list 🙂 I also have to look for an octopus die like this …
