Acetate Holiday Cards, Tim Holtz/Ranger

I was immediately intrigued by the new Icicle paste that is part of the limited edition Holiday Texture set. I love how it looks on all the little glass jars and things that Tim Holtz has through his Idea-ology line. I was trying to think outside the box a bit and wanted to translate that onto cards.

I took out a pack of acetate cards from Hero Arts and got started creating.

I started by spreading some of the icicle paste onto the front of the 4 cards and set them aside to dry. I then started to create some backgrounds on Distress White Heavystock with the new limited-edition holiday Distress Mica Sprays.

I stamped one of the sentiments from the Mini Doodle Greetings set and embossed it in white, then diecut it out with a stitched rectangle. I then proceeded to ink smoosh on that with the Distress Mica Sprays.

 

On the background that will go on the inside of the card, I stamped the snowman and sentiment from the Tattered Christmas stamp set.

I added a little detail to the snowman. I used colored pencils and the new Snowfall Holiday Grit Paste. I used double-sided tape to adhere the sentiment to the front of the card, and the background panel to the inside of the card.

For this next card, I gold embossed the sentiment for the front of the card.

I added some glitter accents with a Quickie glue pen and the new glitter from the limited edition holiday sparkle set.

For Santa, I added some detail with colored pencils and filled in the fluff of his hat, and pom-pom with the new Snowfall Holiday Grit paste.

For this sentiment, I used Bold Tidings. I white embossed “Peace on Earth” and then did some ink smooshing over it with the new mica spray.

Then on the inside panel, I stamped a mix of Swirly Snowflakes and Mini Swirly Snowflakes
