Hey crafty friends! 👋 I’m popping in to share a card I made using some of my favorite Tim Holtz stamps and stencils from Stampers Anonymous.
Fun fact: Stampers Anonymous doesn’t retire their Tim Holtz designs—so there’s a huge library of awesome stamps and stencils you might not have seen in a while (or totally forgot you had 😉).
Hope this project sparks some inspiration to dig into your stash and get creative! ✨

A Bunch of Hocus Pocus: Mixed Media Halloween Card

Hello, friends! Halloween is almost here, so today I’m sharing a moody, colorful card that mixes inky textures with a touch of vintage spookiness.
The Background
I started with a layered background using Distress Micro Glaze, Distress Inks, and Distress Spray Stains, along with Tim Holtz’s Iron Works stencil. The Micro Glaze acts as a resist, so the ornate stencil pattern shows through all those rich, blended colors. I love how the purples, teals, rusts, and pinks swirl together into something a little mysterious.
For extra sparkle and texture, I splattered some Gansai Tambi Opal paint across the background. Then I stamped a few of the collage images from the Chemist stamp set to add some vintage ephemera peeking out from behind the focal point.
The Skull
The star of the card is the skull from Tim Holtz’s Foreboding stamp/stencil set. I stamped it onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock with Pumice Stone Distress Oxide ink and clear embossed it. Next I added a touch of color with Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender Distress Watercolor Pencils. The soft purple shading gives it dimension and ties it into the background. I fussy cut the skull and popped it up on the background with foam squares.
The Sentiment
To finish, I white embossed “A Bunch of Hocus Pocus” from the Blueprint Spells stamp set onto black cardstock. I added a bit of Distress Rock Candy Chunky to the edges of the sentiment strip with Glossy Accents for a frosty, glittery edge that catches the light.
Thanks for Stopping By!
