I was out one night with my friends and I checked my email, one specific email caught my eye. I had to read it a few times until I realized it was legit. I was invited by Ranger and Tim Holtz to be part of the Ranger Designer Challenge. All the years I have been to CHA the Designer Challenge was always something I looked forward to, snapped tons of pictures of, and was inspired by. It truly is an honor to be part of it this year for CHA/Creativation.
This years theme was the evolution of Distress and I was assigned Distress Ink. We were given one of Tim’s new Etcetera Thickboard Tags from Stampers Anonymous as our surface. There were no rules. Just use that surface and feature Distress Inks. That’s easy right?!
I think I felt the pressure a little bit as I sat at my studio table too long to count numerous times just staring at the surface trying to come up with a creative plan. Then one night it all came together…. I started to create after work and kept creating and creating and creating. I think it was around midnight when I decided to try hand lettering for the first time on this almost done project 😉
Around 2 am I wrapped up the project and crawled into bed (after scrubbing my hands with the ranger craft scrubby for a good 15 mins)
Little side note: Mister Harley always hangs out with me in my studio…he will sit there all day with me while I create. Usually when it gets pretty late he will sit up and stare at me asking me to goto bed… this picture was of him around 2am and he couldn’t even keep his eyes open- poor kitty 😉
When I woke up at 7:30a for work I was happy to see the weather was decent for December and I just KNEW I had to drive to the beach and snap pics of my project! Hope you enjoy them!
Tell Mr Harley that I absolutely love the collaboration of the two of you on this beautiful project. Photographing on the beach was inspired!
This project is awesome and reminds my of growing up in NJ and going to the beach. The lake beaches in Muchigan as nice but no seashells.
I really love this project! I’m all about the ocean and things that live in and around it. Beautiful! I already have the dies.
Thank you! You are amazing!
Christine

Beautiful! Love it….so fitting for a special wall space. 🙂
Jenn, this really is beautiful. Was well worth you staying up a good part of your night. I love your creation especially with the picture of the beach in the background. I find the beach a soothing peaceful place to be. Great work as usual Jenn.
