Hello everyone! I am back with another year of Get Cracking on Christmas! I’m so excited to share another year of Get Cracking on Christmas with you. Being able to work on my holiday card stash throughout the year, with no stress, is such a gift. I love creating with stamps and supplies that have been patiently waiting to be used and experimenting with new techniques along the way. Here’s to creative play, using what we have, and heading into the new year inspired and ready to keep cracking on Christmas. 💕✨

Get Cracking: Fa La La Mix

One of my little “systems” in the studio is that I keep all new holiday stamps, dies, and goodies in a separate bin until I use them at least once. Then they get organized away with everything else.
While browsing through my “unused bin,” I pulled a mix of products from different brands, and I just love how this card came together! It’s always fun mixing companies and seeing everything play nicely together. (All supplies are linked below to make it easy for you.)
I started by die cutting:
- Snowflakes from a Newton’s Nook die set
- A leafy vine from Simon Says Stamp
- The “Fa La La” from a Concord & 9th background die
Everything was cut from Distress Watercolor Cardstock.
Next, I watercolored all the die cuts using Distress Watercolor Pencils. I love how easy it is to build color and depth with them, especially for wintery blues and frosty greens. Once dry I splattered the pieces with Dr. Ph Martin’s Bleedproof White paint.
For the background, I created a soft wash using Salvaged Patina Distress Watercolor Pencils. Once that was dry, I splattered Peacock Feathers pigment for added texture and movement. After everything dried, I stamped the holiday sentiment with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide for a softer, subtle contrast.
Then it was time to assemble! Some elements are adhered directly to the background, while others are popped up with foam squares to create dimension.
Now… the Sparkle. You knew this part was coming. 😉
I added:
- Distress Rock Candy Clear Glitter to portions of the leaves and along the bottom of the ” Fa La La” letters
- Distress Rock Candy Chunky Glitter on parts of the snowflakes
- Glossy Accents to the berries
And I finished it off with a few gems from Honey Bee Stamps for that final pop.

I can’t wait to share this one with you during my LIVE! You can join me in real time or catch the replay later. These Get Cracking on Christmas LIVEs are the perfect excuse to pull out your holiday supplies and work on your own cards while we chat, create, and get inspired together. 💙✨
