Hello everyone! I am excited to participate in another year of the Get Cracking on Christmas series and wicked excited to work on my stash of holiday cards throughout the year! I will continue to create holiday cards with NO STRESS, using stamps and supplies I haven’t had a chance to play with yet and experimenting with different techniques.
If you missed my Crafty Chat in January, I went over Get Cracking on Christmas. Why I do it, my approach to it, and how you can join. Catch the replay here!

I won’t be going LIVE this month, I’m out straight prepping for my in-person Creative Journey Art Retreat this weekend, and then Thanksgiving is right around the corner! But go ahead and mark your calendars now: my next LIVE will be December 18, 2025, and I’ll be sharing a brand-new project. Be sure to tap the bell/set a reminder so you don’t miss it!

Get Cracking: Using Up Left-Overs

Do you ever hang on to little bits you’ve colored or created for other projects that didn’t make the final cut? I totally do. And when I’m in a pinch and need a quick card, those leftovers are the first place I look!
These snowflakes were extras from last month’s Get Cracking on Christmas, and they were perfect for this quick design. You can see how I created them here.
I added a soft wash of shimmer using Gansai Tambi Starry Colors and cut the background with Lawn Fawn’s largest Outside In Stitched Rectangle. The sentiment is gold-embossed from Tim Holtz’s Scribbly Christmas set, Simon Says Stamp just released coordinating dies for it, which made it even easier!
And of course… sparkle! I brushed Distress Rock Candy into the open areas of the snowflakes and added a little Distress Rock Candy Chunky along the tips and edges of both the snowflakes and sentiment.
I love how this one turned out: non-traditional colors, gorgeous texture, and all the sparkle! 💙✨
