Hey friends! 👻 If you haven’t noticed, I am loving making Halloween cards lately. A lot of people think they’re just for kids, but I totally disagree, Halloween cards are playful, creative, and full of imagination, which makes them so much fun to share with anyone! 🎃 I’ve got another spooky-fun design to show you today! ✨ I used some of the fabulous coordinating dies for Tim Holtz stamps from Stampers Anonymous. This is also part of a fun and inspiring Instagram Hop, so be sure to head on over there to check out all the other projects.
These dies are exclusively available at Simon Says Stamp! 🙌
Not only do they save you from all that fussy cutting, but they also unlock a whole new world of creative possibilities, especially when it comes to layering and collage. Let’s dive in!

Halloween Sketchbook, Tim Holtz

For this spooky-sweet card, I started by ink-blending the background with Distress Inks onto Distress White Heavystock. Once I had a smooth blend, I added a stenciled spiderweb with Black Soot Distress Ink and then splattered on a bit of Gansai Tambi Starry Colors paint for that magical shimmer.
The images are from the Halloween Sketchbook set. I colored directly onto the stamps with Distress Watercolor Pencils before stamping them — such a fun technique for getting soft, painterly results. After that, I used the coordinating dies from Simon Says Stamp to cut them out perfectly.
For the sentiment, I heat-embossed in white on Black Licorice cardstock. As always, I prepped the surface first with the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool, stamped several times with Yeti White Pigment Ink in my MISTI, and finished with Alabaster Embossing Powder from Brutus Monroe for a crisp, clean look.
To finish things off, I added a little Distress Rock Candy Glitter to the images — just enough sparkle to catch the light and make this Halloween card shine. ✨
