WOW! hard to believe it's been almost a month since my last post… YIKES! well, i got back from teaching classes, and then we were in FULL swing of final prep for crop on the cape… and i just couldn't do much more then work, sleep, and work :)
but it was another successful, SOLD OUT event this year!! whoo hooo!!!
we have gotten some nice spring weather here on the east coast WHOOO HOOO we all know how much i love my sunshine!! :)
today i walked 5 miles.. mostly along the beach, it was beautiful….
trying to get back into the swing of things… walks, zumba, gym… eating right…
it was so hard to keep up with all that during crop on the cape, but i'm happy to say i didn't gain any weight.. so thats good… now time to be losing again!
mister harley has been glued to the *open* windows… smelling the fresh air (his nose goes like a lil bunny) and watching all the activity outside with the cardnials, blue jays and of course the bunnies are back!
last month in stamp club i designed this card for everyone to create… this month in stamp club heidi treated us to this CREATIVE and YUMMY cake from creative baking (which is right behind the cape cod mall!!)
if you leave your camera unattended at colorful creations, you just never know what will end up on it ;)
i realized it was time to tackle my crafty space… it has been neglected the past month..but it was def a challenge with my little visitor ;)
i DID get it picked up pretty well, enough that i could play with a new stamp i've been itching to ink up…. i created this card with a few things in mind… obviously today is easter 😉 makes me think of my gram….
she would always take me out shopping for a new easter dress. i got to hold the money in my little purse, pick out the dress and goto the register all on my own 😉 well at least thats how it felt! she was always there with guidance… we would goto church together pretty much every sunday…. but easter sunday i was always in my snazzy new dress :)
(see pictures below for a good laugh)
i also had all the peter cottontail books that she had given to me…. so this stamp reminds me of that as well!
i LOVE my copic markers…. but i still LOVE my watercolor pencils 😉 they were my first love for a coloring medium…..
and one more easter memory before i leave you to some silly pictures… this story came back to me teaching my spring and easter classes at ink about it….
i had designed this card below, but i remembered what prolly triggered my idea
my grandfather (my dad's dad) never really got along with my mom… so we didn't spend holidays with him … but he would always swing by with treats and surprises for me ( i was the only grandchild 😉 ) and for easter his treat was always a HUGE solid chocolate bunny!! now, you have to know in my house growing up there was NO candy, NO soda, NO junk…. after trick or treating i was allowed 5 pieces of candy.. an then the rest would mysteriously disappear….. so when my grandfather would give me this chocolate bunny. i know my mom was cringing… and here i am trying to bite some of it off the ear… so hard to do! and of course it too would eventually disappear…. but i enjoyed it none the same 🙂
alright… now i'll leave you with some easter pics from the past… these have been on my facebook.. but it still cracks me up just how many EASTER pics i have… no nearly as many christmas or birthday… so odd!!!
enjoy!
easter 1980: not sure which is more disturbing me sitting by the knives or my dads sweater vest ha!)
