matt and i went on a lil adventure yesterday…. we went to visit IKEA the first time for me… matt has visited one in CT before…. now that matt is home 7 days a week… and the craze of the summer is over…. we have been looking around our house, and realize we need some SERIOUS organization!!! we found 2 dressers for the bedroom, that will eliminate the *piles and piles* of clothes in the basement… and a desk for the living room.. that will eliminate the 2 cluttered desks in the living room now….
we hope to make the desk a central spot for all our chargers, the printer and scanner…. since matt and i both have laptops we barely sit at a desk when were on them…
we also have a *fabulous* plan for victoria for christmas 🙂 I’m *super* excited about it 🙂 we’re going to redo her room…. put a bunkbed, with no bed on the bottom, we’ll put my old desk there with our extra computer for her…. we change up some of the organizing….. and possibly a new dresser as well…..
this will eliminate her getting even more toys which isnt needed… she has Christmas at 4 households before she even gets to our house….. so needless to say she is christmas’d out…. sooo this year… she’ll come home and we’ll have her door wrapped 🙂 for her to open and discover a new… bigger girl room 🙂 shes turning 8 in a couple weeks… so i really think theis will be super!! matts excited at the idea too!!!
we have a few more things to go back and pick up today at IKEA, we had to leave yesterday to make it back in time for victorias soccer practice 🙂 and only so much can fit in a Jetta 😉
matt and i went out to the Paddock for his birthday dinner. It’s kinda a tradition 🙂 yummy baked stuffed lobsta!! mmmmmm
If you have no plans for saturday…. and want to create some SUPER fun cards 🙂 Last minute i was asked to host some classes at ink about it !! what more fun can there be on a saturday in the fall!!?? I’m hostin 2 different classes Jolly Holiday and Fabulous Fall. Both classes you will make 5 cards 🙂 and both classes have VERY FEW spots left… so make sure you call and sign up!!!
If you’re not near ink about it…. look for these classes at colorful creations and possibly a few other stores this fall!!
have a great day everyone… up to anything crafty?? i’d love to hear about it!!
Your “on line” comment on Ali’s blog made me laugh so hard I had to come see your blog! My hubby is from California and they too believe us New Yorkers are nuts. I can’t tell you how many times I offer to stand “on line” whilst he goes and does whatever, only to get some deadpan response about there being “no line on which to stand”.
Love your blog by the way.
I’ve been crafting up a storm if you want to check me out! 🙂 Your furniture plans sound AWESOME!
My home is an ikea showroom, my favorite piece for organization is my “PORI” I love it so much.. Should really post a pic of it on my blog, perhaps that will be my next task.. Thanks for getting me thinking. BTW, love your blog!

I *heart* IKEA too. We’re re-doing Alyza’s room this year too (From IKEA), and she’s gonna get a real bedroom set from there… I cant wait! Victoria will LOVE it, I’m sure. I remember when I was 10 my Mom & I redid my room, and it was SO fun! 🙂
Hi Jenn! I shopped IKEA years ago when I was living in NJ and loved their stuff…I can only guess it has gotten better and better! What fun decorating! And your gift of a new room for Victoria is such a neat idea! I am looking forward to Stamptoberfest…like a one-day getaway! You asked about crafty things we’ve been up to–I took on Ali’s challenge of a mini book on favorite things and used a Basic Grey matchbook kit I had bought at CC and forgot I had…very fun to do! Am working on 2 other mini albums…one on me (baby to now!) and one on birds (being a birdwatcher I have lots of photos!)…all good times! See you soon, Diane
IKEA sounds great… youcould probably spend, like, 1 1/2 hours just in the desk section! Is it as *cool* as Walmart?
btw… are there ay of those cut little card classes available in the Boston area? just wonderin’ 😉
IKEA is great isn’t it?! We did a shopping spree at Target yesterday! Boy did they bank! I am LOVING the Thanksgiving card! Very cute! Nothing very crafty going on here in regards to scrappin’…I am in such a rut! But I’ve been knitting in the midst of unpacking. 🙂 Guess that’s better than nuthin huh? How’s Watcher?
Sounds like a fun first-time trip to Ikea! woohoo. I’m sure Victoria will love the room. I love that bunk w/ desk underneath idea. =)
OH man….I love IKEA! I just moved from being near one to a state that doesn’t even have one yet, and when it comes this spring it will be 5 hours away! i miss it…especially since they don’t sell everything online. Have fun with your daughter’s room, sounds so great!
The BIG GIRL room sounds FAB – Victoria is going to love it!
IKEA is the greatest … I lost track of how much money I dropped there after we moved into our new house. It was so worth it though!
