It’s that time again, Friday… and that means another installment of TGIHarley! 🙂
Since I have had Mister Harley, he has always chosen to drink out of the bathroom sink. NOT out of the super cute water bowl i made him at the paint-your-own-pottery place… If I’m not turning on the sink for him enough, I hear him in the tub trying to get drips out of that faucet. Anywyas, I have worried that when I am gone for an overnight.. or a long day he isn’t getting enough to drink. I know that if he were “dying of thirst” he probably WOULD drink out of that super cute bowl.. but still…
So I was talking with jimbo about it, and how when he was at the shelter, they had a guinea pig type water bottle off the cage and that was how he drank… similar to what he does in the sink. My dad is pretty clever in making things, so I picked his brain to see if he could come up with something…
My dad came through and built a water bottle holder, but the sad report is.. mister harley was WAAAY more excited to check out the BIG box that was delivered, the fun amt of newspaper that came out of it, and of course the empty box that was left behind… then any drinking water contraption. BUMMER….
I am still holding on a bit of hope, changing the water and showing him how cool it is… I’ll let you know if anything changes in the drinking dept!
Lucky you to have such a clever Jimbo and I’m sure eventually Mr Harley will remember how he drank from a similar dispenser at the shelter 🙂
i hope so ej!
Awww Mister Harley. I love you and your spunk!!
I solved that problem with this! 🙂 My cats love it and top part is like a faucet!
i have tried a couple different water dispensers.. he’s afraid of the noise… high maintenance i know!! i keep reminding him where he came from 😉 hahaha
Aww. Mr Harley is so cute! Put water in his food. I do that for max. He hardly drinks from his bowl too!
thats a thought… but man he’s such a messy eater already haha – i will keep it in mind though, thank you!
Oh, and I must add, Max loves boxes and paper too.. especially paper bags. Maybe he and Mister Harley could open up a special kitty cardboard line?! They’d make a fortune!
i know right!? mister harley rarely gets cat toys.. because he much rather play with paper and ribbon and empty boxes.. all things i’m never short of on the island 🙂 thanks for finding my blog anna and for all the comments!
How cute Mister Harley is! The custom water bottle system your Dad made is really awesome — it’s just like a tub! That was smart thinking 🙂
i know.. i love how it came out.. hope he uses it eventually… you actually just gave me an idea, maybe i’ll actually put it IN the tub 😉
Oh my gosh Jenn, your kitty is so adorable! Too funny how he only likes to drink from the sink. Our cat Dusty also can not resist the power of the card board box. Fun!
thank you julie 🙂
