I wanted to just pop in quick today and let you know that registration is open for Crop on the Cape 2020.
What exactly is Crop on the Cape?
It is a papercrafting retreat held in Hyannis Massachusetts. 2020 will be the 21st year of this event! When I used to manage Colorful Creations, an independent papercrafting store in Hyannis I used to help run the event with the owner, Jayne. When the store closed, I started attending the event for fun. I have taught classes at the event for over 14 years now 🙂
For 2 years now I have run the event, with the help of Chris and one of my best friends Josie. The event has been selling out, something that hadn’t happened in a number of years.
During the event there are classes you can attend (I will be teaching Rainbow Bright Lawn Fawn Card Class), there are a lot of vendors that you can shop with. You can book a massage, and its just a wicked fun weekend all around!
“I have never attended a crop” or “I don’t scrapbook”
19 years ago when the event started EVERYONE was scrapbooking, and there weren’t a lot cardmakers. Over the years attendees have worked on more of a variety of projects. People are there scrapbooking, organizing photos, cardmaking, creating mixed media projects even knitting!
When I attended I always would bring any stamps that I haven’t been able to create anything with, my favorite coloring medium and I just focused on coloring images and getting elements ready for cards.
It’s a fun weekend away where you can catch up with friends and get crafty!
You can sign up just for the classes
If you don’t want to have a space to work on your own project, and you don’t want to stay for the whole weekend you can just attend the classes of your choice and visit the vendors for some shopping. Each class will just be $5 more than the listed price.
Wicked fun time!
I am so excited to be hosting/organizing this event again. We have had people attend year after year and people that travel from all over to attend. It is always so much fun to catch up with them 🙂 I just know it’s a great event and that you would enjoy attending!
