Hello everyone! If you are new to my site you may not know, but I am a 110% beach girl, I am secretly (or not so secretly) a mermaid 😉 When my friend Libby mentioned to me that the May My Monthly Hero Kit had an ocean theme and asked if I would want to create some inspiration, I, of course, said: “heck yes!” Be sure to read to the end to see the links for everyone on this hop and for GIVEAWAY details!

Once I started creating with the kit, and the add-ons I couldn’t stop! The creative juices were flowing and before I knew it, it was 2 am and I had created NINE cards to share with you!

Ok, now onto some inspiration to jennable you! I have 9 cards to share with you today. And the new Salvaged Patina Distress ink is a part of all of them. 

• Squeezed Lemonade/Spiced Marmalade
• Wild Honey/Abandoned Coral
• Kitsch Flamingo/Picked Raspberry
• Wilted Violet/Blueprint Sketch

Then using the new Hero Lifestyle Mermaid, I die cut the fish, scalloped shells, sea stars, and mermaid tail

I then stamped some bubbled with Salvaged Patina Distress inks, and the sentiment both from the 6×8 stamp set included in the kit. To finish it off, I sprinkled some chunky glitter, added some Prisma glitter accents, and added a few sequins.

For this set of cards, I started by inking up the new Happiness Waves Bold Prints, with a rainbow selection of Distress Oxide Inks. I set the stamp on my table, rubber up, and ink with the inkpads all at once.

• Spiced Marmalade
• Mustard Seed
• Twisted Citron
• Salvaged Patina
• Wilted Violet

I then misted the stamp with some shimmer water. I then placed a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock, smooth side, onto the stamp and rubbed the paper to make a print. I misted the stamp again to make a second print, and a 3rd time to get all three backgrounds.

I then die-cut some of the new Seashells Fancy Dies out of Distress White Heavystock, and ink blended them with a variety of Distress Inks.

I spritzed them with the shimmer water too. I then arranged them onto the cards and added some Tim Holtz Label Stickers for sentiments.

Oh boy! Ok, for this card I started with the new Inverse Bubbles Bold Prints, and I did a similar process that I did for the above card set. Lay the stamp, rubber up on your table, ink it up, in this case, I used Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide and misted it with water. Pressing a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock, the smooth side onto the stamp to get a print.

I then stamped all of the fun images from the new In a Pinch stamp set, these images are SO cute! I then Copic colored them into a fun range of rainbow colors. Next, I coated the images with a clear Wink of Stella glitter pen and covered them with a generous amount of glossy accents.

For this card, I ink blended a background with Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina Distress Ink on Distress White Heavystock. I then splattered some water droplets.

Then using the main image from the kit 6×8 stamp set, all the fun coral, seaweed, sea stars, etc. I inked it with multiple colors of Distress Oxides. I used an ink blending tool to pounce the different colors onto the stamps. I then stamped the image and proceeded to watercolor the image with Distress Oxides.

• Abandoned Coral
• Spiced Marmalade
• Crushed Olive
• Salvaged Patina
• Picked Raspberry
• Wilted Violet

I then die-cut it and added it to the background, stamping a sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink. And you guessed it! I sprinkled some Chunky glitter here and there to give an underwater sparkle!

Lastly, I have 2 slimline cards to share with you. For both of these, I used the new Water Flow Slimline Stencil

For this first card, first I ink blended with Blueprint Sketch and Salvaged Patina Distress Ink. Then I spread through the stencil some Transparent Matte Texture paste.

I then stamped a few images from the 6×8 kit stamp set. I stamped them with Distress Oxides and watercolored them in.

I stamped the sentiment on vellum with Versafine Onyx Black, and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I die-cut out the panels with some Lawn Fawn slimline dies that are linked below. I finished off the cards with some sequins.

For this last card, I stenciled the new Water Flow Slimline Stencil with Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink, not blending completely and letting it fade out on the top. I splattered with some water droplets to let the Distress Ink react. 

I watercolored the jelly with Distress oxide Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberry. I added some Prisma glitter to the tentacles, and once on the card I painted on some clear wink of Stella on the head and added some glossy accents. Lastly, a few sequins here and there.

I really hope these cards inspired you and showed you just how many things you can create with them. I love all things ocean so much, got a little carried away, and I know I will be creating even more fun cards with these supplies!
