I have been enjoying putting together these little “cluster” cards lately. You can see another one I created recently here. It’s a lot of fun to bring a whole bunch of elements together, and layer them and pop them up and tuck them under etc. It reminds me a bit of when I would scrapbook next to my friend Steph– she would lay everything out and THEN glue it down… i’m more a glue as I go girl– which is tricky when doing these types of designs because you may want to add more elements after the fact. I have found that if i lay it all out without gluing (yes, steph… without gluing, aren’t you proud? ) THEN i snap a pic with my iPhone for a reference take all the elements away and start from the bottom up- it all comes together quite nicely 🙂
Everything is stamped on watercolor paper- I really enjoy the texture that it gives to the card. For the hot air balloon- I used my distress inks and waterbrush to color the image and shade the balloon.
