Time for a NEW Simon Says Stamp Wednesday ChallengeHey, everyone! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our challenge last week and we hope you will all join us again this week too. This week the challenge is Anything Goes!

We are featuring Art Impressions this week. Although, I made an OOPS and used Impression Obsession ha! You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them we would love to see them used! As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store! YAY!

Smell the Sea, Impression Obsession

Smell the Sea, Impression Obsession | shurkus.com

So, I accidentally read “Art Impressions” as “Impression Obsession” – I think this beach girl was wanting to use these awesome stamps and couldn’t hold back any longer!

For this card, I used some Distress Watercolor Cardstock and stamped the waves in Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink. I then watercolored around the image and the whole bottom of the card. For the sky, I used Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey and Picked Raspberry. I then ink blended the edges with a touch of black soot to make it look like the sun was setting. I stamped the sentiment in Black Soot Distress Oxides. I also put some rock candy distress glitter on the waves.

This card was pretty quick and simple and I love the simplicity of it, it’s only one layer but it has a real impact because of the bold colors 🙂 I have an extra of the sentiment so I thought it would be fun to do a little giveaway 🙂

Forgot to add: my favorite activity on the beach… besides just sitting there, taking deep relaxing breaths of salt air, I do like to search for sea glass!!

I live in Oregon and e very year the city of Lincoln City hides glass globes along the beaches and its fun to comb the beaches looking fir these globes. Occasionally a Japanese fishing globe will wash up on the shore. Its finders keepers!

Since relocating to Florida from CT, my favorite beach activity is hunting shark teeth on Venice beach. So cool to find those fossilized, blackened teeth rolling up in the surf. 🦈

Really beautiful card. The last few times I’ve been to the beach were with the boys I nanny, and we enjoy building sandcastles together most! Outside of work time I like beach trips that involve walking along the shore with my husband 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win!

I LOVE this stamp!! Thank you for the opportunity to win it. My favorite beach activity is to go Stand Up Paddling. I take off from the beach and head out of the harbor to the ocean. Your card is gorgeous! I love the blended distress oxides and the waves… I am going to have to check out rock candy glitter !

Love the colors on your card. Love the beach for relaxing. The sights, breeze and fresh smell just has such a wonderful calm about it. I am looking forward to getting there soon.

The colors and ink blending on this card are simply dreamy. Going to the beach for my birthday later in February. PNW beach weather is iffy around that time, so crossing fingers for decent weather. I’m most looking forward to strolling the sand with my pups and husband.

Where I live there isn’t much for beaches. All though I hope to visit a beach overlooking the ocean one day. I know I would love the sounds the water makes as well as the sand between my toes as I stroll along the waters edge.

I love your card – the colours are fabulous!!! My favourite thing to do on the beach would really be to lay and read a book. But I don’t spend much time at the beach, so I do love just walking along the beach, right at the water’s edge just close enough to get the feet wet and listen to the surf.

I like people watching and waiting for the baby turtles to hatch. We’ve only seen it a few times because you have to be at the right place at the right time. It’s so exciting.

Cute card. I love the colors you used. Nice sentiment.

I love the watercoloring in your card. I live near the beach and go often. When the water is warm I swim and try to catch waves but if it’s cold, I watch my husband swim and walk on the sand where the waves can wet my legs. The beach is next to a river mouth and it is great to watch the kitesurfers.

That’s a lovely cool card 🙂 I love to play in the water, along with the waves, look for sea shells and throw them back, or collect a few that I like, and use it on crafts! 🙂 Basically, I totally lovvvve being at the beach and depending on my mood and excitement, I love to do different activities 😀

Love this card, Jenn! That ocean scene makes me wish I was sitting on the beach under an umbrella (I burn easily) listening to the sounds of the ocean as I’m reading a good book! Thanks for the chance!

I like to walk along the beach searching for sea glass and other treasures…I like to lay on the beach and listen to the waves rolling in until I am so warm I must run into the waves to wash the heat from me…I like to sit on the beach after a long day and watch the sun set as I wrap myself in a beach blanket….Oh how I wish it were August not the beginning of February!

Can’t blame you for wanting to use beach stamps as this brings that happy, warm weather feeling to mind immediately.
I have two loves on the beach, one is watching my children have fun and mess around in the sea and on the sand, the other is to lie with a good book my head in shade and just disappear into my book. Unfortunately these days my wheelchair sinks into the sand so I watch from a wall or bench.
