Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Use Watercolors

10/8/2014

Time for a NEW Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
I am back with a Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge card!

This week’s challenge is Use Watercolors – The design team has a lot of inspiration for you using all kinds of different watercolor products. Be sure to check it out! There are SO many watercolor products out there and what I like about watercoloring is it makes you look SUPER artistic, even if you aren’t a fine artist! You can use watercolor paints, watercolor pencils, gelatos, distress ink pads, watercolor crayons and more! Today I decided to try out my new sets of Peerless Water Colors!

I have been so excited to try out my new Peerless Watercolor set. I love all things watercolor! I think my goto favorite coloring medium is Watercolor Pencils because they are so quick and easy. I like trying out different mediums and with watercolors you can get such rich colors and I love the watered texture you can get with them.

Peerless Water ColorsFor this “hello” card set I started with a sheet of Distress Watercolor paper. I took a wide paint brush and covered the center part of the cardstock with just water. I then touched the wet paintbrush to one of the sheets in the Peerless Water Color set and brushed the color on the pool of water. I heat set the card with the Ranger Heat tool, moving the pooled water around as I was drying.  Once completely dry I stamped “hello” from the Big the Bold and the Happy clear stamp set from Winnie & Walter in Versafine black.

I then sprinkled some Hero Arts Mixed Accents. I finished the card off with glossy accents over the word “hello”.

It was so quick and easy to create one, I made another two! What a fun card set!!

These would be good cards to make and keep on hand for a quick card grab. They are so bright and eye-catching.
