Sending Sunshine & Smiles

I couldn’t resist continuing on with the adorable moles and the bright rainbow color scheme we’ll be using in my upcoming online class, A Mole Lot of Friends. Valentine season is one of my favorite times to send happy mail to friends, and these sweet little cards are perfect for spreading a little extra love and encouragement.
For the card front, I stamped and colored the moles using Copic markers. I’ve shared a full Copic swatch list below so you can easily recreate the look or swap in colors from your own stash. I added a mix of small sentiments inside the heart speech bubbles to create a fun collage feel, each of the sentiment stamp sets I used is listed and linked below.
The background was created with Distress Watercolor Pencils, blending a rainbow of color directly onto watercolor cardstock. I love how these pencils make it easy to build soft layers while still keeping those vibrant hues. To carry the design through, I repeated the watercoloring on the inside of the card and finished it off with a few playful splatters for added texture and interest.
For the inside greeting, I used Henry’s Build-a-Sentiment: Spring to create a cheerful message that pairs perfectly with the colorful background and sweet critters.
These cards make me smile every time I look at them, and I hope they inspire you to send a little sunshine to someone special this Valentine season. Be sure to check out the full supply list and additional detail photos below!
