Hi everyone! I am here today to let you know that Purple Onion Designs is having a wonderful sale! They are offering YOU a 25% off discount off all of their images (except for the colored pencil jumpstart class stamp sets)! November 29- December 13, 2019, you get to go shopping!!
I have some fun cards to share with you today that was created with a new line of stamps from Purple Onion. They are illustrations by Julian Charlton.
Season’s Greetings, Purple Onion Designs
Santa in the sky
I had so much fun playing with these new images from Purple Onion Designs and Julian Charlton. Since they are all silhouettes it makes for quick and easy cards which is perfect as the holidays are getting closer and closer and there isn’t much time left to create cards.
I started by ink blending the background with Faded Jeans, Picked Raspberry and Scattered Straw Distress Oxides. I then stamped the apartment buildings with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide (see the little kitty?). I stamped Santa and his reindeer with Black Soot Distress Oxide.
I stamped the sentiment banner on another piece of cardstock with Picked Raspberry and fussy cut it out. Adhering it to the card with Lawn Fawn Glue Tube.
Since Distress Oxides have some properties like a Pigment Ink they stamp these solid images beautifully.
Lastly, using a Quickie Glue Pen I added some Prisma Glitter details.
Beary Greetings
For this card, I created a watercolored background using Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxides. I wet the top of Distress Watercolor Cardstock, and then painted on the ink. Once I had all the color filled in, I spritzed with the Distress Spritzer and then heat set.
One separate cardstock I stamped the trees with Twisted Citron Distress Oxide. I stamped the bear with Pumice Stone Distress Oxide. I also stamped the upper half of him again with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide so I could fussy cut out his scarf and hat. I used a Lawn Fawn Glue Tube to adhere them over the gray ones. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide.
I fussy cut out all the images and adhered them to the card with 3M Foam Tape.
Lastly, I laid down a generous amount of Lawn Fawn Glue Tube along the ground and sprinkled some Lawn Fawn Chunky Glitter.
Using unmounted red rubber stamps
Purple Onion has come out with Clear Mounting Stamps that makes it SO much easier to use their stamps. I love how I can put it into my Misti and it clings to the red rubber stamps and can be used over and over and over.
Storing unmounted red rubber stamps
I have shared in the past how I organize and store all of my Purple Onion Designs Stamps but I thought it would be helpful to share again.
I organized my stamps into categories, and each category got its own storage box.
- Critters
- Scene Building
- Sentiments
Then I stamped the images on 4×6 cardstock so I will have them to refer to.
Then I store the reference sheets in the storage container with the stamps. These containers fit in the split fridge binz that I store all my clear stamps and dies in, so it works out perfectly for me!
I hope this helps and shows you how easy it is to use these stamps because Purple Onion really has some adorable designs!
Both are wonderful but really LUV the city with Santa. Cat in the window it great, weird SC is great, sparkly rein is great. all good.
