Seasonal Distress Crayons, Tim Holtz/Ranger

She Cast A Wicked Spell

I dug out all the fun Tim Holtz Halloween goodies I had from previous years (hoarder alert) and created this card!

I started by adhering some ephemera to a Distress White Heavystock panel. I used Distress Collage Medium. I left some spaces and had some of the ephemera pieces go off the edge.

I then scribbled some of the new Distress Pearl Crayons (set 1 and set 2) here and there and smudged them with my fingers. Letting the colors mix on the edges, and spreading the color all over.

I then picked out one of the Halloween Paper Dolls, and a Jack-o-Lantern from the ephemera pack, and covered them with embossing ink, and then sprinkled Frosted Crystal Embossing powder, and melted it with an embossing gun.

I then used a water brush and painted on some color to the girl with the new Distress Crayons. I added some shadow to the Jack-o-lantern as well. I wrapped around some mummy cloth and tied it in a knot. I added a strip of black cardstock, and a word chip I had in my stash. To fill in the other space, I added some Distress Collage Medium and sprinkled some of the mica flakes from the Seasonal Sparkle set.

I then added the paper doll and jack-o-lantern to the card. I matted the panel onto some Metallic Kraft Stock. I sanded the edges of this paper to give it a distressed look.

Oh Christmas Tree

I followed the same process for this holiday card. I started by adhering some holiday ephemera to a panel of Distress White Heavystock with Distress Collage Medium. ( I am linking some of his newer options that are available, although I used some ephemera from my stash)

I left some spaces and had some of the ephemera pieces go off the edge.

I then scribbled some of the new Distress Pearl Crayons( set 1, and set 2) here and there and smudged them with my fingers. Letting the colors mix on the edges, and spreading the color all over.

I then picked out one of the Holiday Paper Dolls, and covered it with embossing ink, and then sprinkled Frosted Crystal Embossing powder, and melted it with an embossing gun.

I then used a water brush and painted on some color to the boy with his ice skates with the new Distress Crayons.

I layered some gold sparkle cardstock and some holiday fringe. I have linked to some fringe that is still available, and you could add some color to it on your own. I pulled out a holiday word chip from my stash, and painted on some Icicle Distress Texture, and let it crackle.

I matted this panel onto some red metallic kraft stock and sanded the edges to add texture.

I love creating cards like these, where they really become a piece of art, and the creative process is so fun! I hope these cards inspire you to get a little inky!
