Storm Juno | shurkus.com

So, in case you didn’t hear we had a wicked big storm in New England this week. 16+ inches here in Providence. This summer loving girl wasn’t too upset about it all because luckily we didn’t lose power and since we live in an apartment building we don’t have to worry about shoveling and plowing much. I had 2 snow days from work and spent most of that time at my studio table, playing! The storm started on Monday and I didn’t venture outside again until Tuesday afternoon. Chris had a little bit of digging out to do since he didn’t get a spot in the garage.

But like I said I spent a lot of time at my studio table and I was in the mood to create a TON of valentines! I posted on facebook that one would think I had a lot of boyfriends with the amount I made! Ha!

Most of what I made was just for fun! Not design team commitments etc. I will be sharing all of them right here  over the next several days but today I wanted to share one I created specifically for Newton’s Nook Inky Paws Challenge!

Newton's Nook Inky Paws ChallengeI had to be creative in making it a valentine, and although I think the background is a bit questionable over all I am really really happy with how it turned out!

I played with the Newton’s Curious Christmas set and my watercolor PENCILS, not distress inks this time 😉 Mister Harley and the snowman’s scarf are fussy cut and layered over the heart, which I cut from Lawn Fawns hearts Lawn Cuts die. The stitched rectangle, the xo’s and pattern paper are also Lawn Fawn.

Since this card was inspired by snow blizzard juno I of course had to put some shaved ice on the ground! Really cute right?

Cute little Valentine! Love the colour and of course the subject matter, who can resist a snowman and kitty cat.
I enjoyed reading this post and see thing snow, we have had not one flake here in Victoria BC Canada, not one. We have had buckets of rain tho’ and my wee yard is like a mud pit for the poor little dogs to go do their business.
Snow is so pretty coming down and beautiful how is makes everything muffled. The only things I don’t like about snow is, hard to get around in and the mess it leaves behind.
Just stay inside, stay at your craft table and produce more of these lovely cards! I must get busy making some of my own, you have inspired me yet again. 🙂
